Guest guest
Dear all, After the most blissful three days of my life, I richocheted back to earth with a resounding THUD as I lost my job today. Actually, it was a mutual decision, and I will receive unemployment benefits, but it was still rather sudden. I won't delve into circumstances right now, but it's sufficient to say that I had to make a decision rather quickly. I know that Ma is leading me in the right direction, though -- I trust Her and realize that my next job will be the right fit (as right as this one was wrong). Nevertheless, I am still somewhat stressed out and hope that many of you will hold me in the Light and say a prayer that everything unfolds as it should. Much love, Radha/Christine

Guest guest
Namaste, I'm so sorry Radha to hear of your situation. My best friend, Dharmasilan lost his job yesterday, too! Mother definitely has a bigger plan in store! As always, trust that she knows best and will bring a wonderful answer to our prayers. Guest guest
- BarryB Ammachi Tuesday, July 27, 2004 7:31 AM Re: Ma turns up the heat, once again... Namaste, First, Barry and Kalikka, welcome to the group! I know what you mean about the upheaval among list members - my prayer list is getting lnoger by the minute!! I met Amma for the first time last year - and returned hom to find that the school board had goofed up my checks and, while I was expecting an income all summer, it had been dispersed during the school year and there would be no summer checks. This was within a week of my husband having to leave his job due to bad heart problems - so no income there either. Needless to say, life got interesting. This year my situation was different ,and one I have not heard of, but one I am hoping I brought it on myself. If not, I must be in deep doo-doo with Mother (probably not a good place to be!) (-: Let me begin with the background. On the way to IA this summer, I was thinking about the income loss, etc. I'd been reading extensively right before that and kept encountering the directive that whatever situation/thing the guru does/does not present you with should be considered a 'positive' in your life since it represents a chance to grow. I thought, ego smugly, I might add, that I was pretty cool with that concept - my faith would allow me to see the good behind most anything Amma 'gave' me to deal with. Wrong. Day one in IA went exquisitely and my heart was just dancing. On Day two, I snuggled against Mother's breast and, when She indicated it was time to do so, I got to my knees to leave-without having been given a Hershey's kiss. The girls beside Her held one out and looked from Amma to me with obvious unease as though that situation did not arise frequently. Amma seemed to ignore the situation, dabbed some sandal paste on my forward and was obviously finished. I left - unkissed, so to speak. That darshan was very early that day and I went from there right to the question line and Mother was loving as always. I'm still wondering if my train of thought encouraged Mother to test me - and if so, I failed big time. My mind has chewed on the situation since I got back- one minute I'm ok with it and the next I'm like a little kid about it. Has anyone else encountered a 'kissless' darshan? At Amma's feet, Snehalata Namaste, I'm so sorry Radha to hear of your situation. My best friend, Dharmasilan lost his job yesterday, too! Mother definitely has a bigger plan in store! As always, trust that she knows best and will bring a wonderful answer to our prayers. Guest guest
Dearest Snehalata, Once part of Amma's prasad missed my hand, so I picked up the rose petal from the floor in front of Her. Since everything Amma does has a purpose, I think She was humbling me. I'm pretty sure that Amma didn't give something to me during the last tour & maybe it was a Hershy's Kiss? Not sure. Someone told me that Amma applies sandlewood paste to our foreheads when we need extra help. Sounds as if you received something more than chocolate. Amma loves us all & whatever She does is only with our best interests and highest good in mind. I wouldn't worry about the lack of chocolate, maybe She figured you were ready for a test??? I think with Mother when you have expectations( the prompting of the ego); of this and that from her, nothing happens ;(but without any expectactions OR with a firm wish to get something, Mother usually has a way of giving you a pleasant surprise OR grant your wish in a most unexpected manner (respectively). Besides Snehalataji, kisses are for babies; you have apparently graduated to the next level :-) Sri Chandrika Sharmaji from Boston once told me Mother can get really "tough" with as you become an oldtime devotee; so no more kisses and hersheys, but only spankings :-). -yogaman
