Namah Shivaya, I'm wondering if anyone might have the words to the Kerala boat

song

that was sung by the swamis at the end of the Rhode Island Devi Bhava? I have

the tune

stuck in my head, but I don't know the words! Any help would be appreciated!

And does anyone know if this was ever recorded?

Blessings,

Iswari

Dear Iswari,

Namah Shivayah. The words to "Amrta Vahini" are in Bhajanamritam Vol. IV, p.

20.

To my knowledge, the only recording of the music is on the video tape, "Pure

Dance,"

which is only 11 minutes long. Others may have more recent information on this.

Sincerely,

Jyotsna

Namah Shivaya, and thank you so much! It is, indeed, there! =)

Still, if anyone knows of a recording of this, please let tell me how to find

it!

Blessings,

Iswari

Namah Shivaya,

Someone posted that it was Amrita Vahini (Bhajanamritam I, p.20). If anyone has

a

recording of this, or knows the tune and would be willing to send me a tape, let

me know!

It starts out...

Amrta vahiniyayittavaniyil avatari

chamarum nayike ninne kai vanangunnen

sruti yuktyanubhavangal orumichu vilayicho

ratulya sundara repam vijayichalum

Titti tara titti tai ti tai take tai tai tom

tai tai tai tai tai tai tai tai titai kaka tai tai tom

Titti tara titti tai ti tai taka tai tai tom

Titti tara titti tai ti tai taka tai tai tom

[The above, I think, is the boat-song part!]

Mati banda makaluvan pakal iravukal ellam

patu petunnavar kkennum abhaya datri

atiratta karunayo tamarunita namukkum

paramatma swabodhatte yunarttituvan, etc. [too many verses to type!]

Any help appreciated,

Iswari

Yep, that's it! It's not on any tape or CD that I

know of, but you can hear part of it sung on the

"Amrita Varshini" video. The Toronto devi bhava was

rocking to this song shortly before Amma went into

"Amma Amma Taye" flower-throwing mode! BTW, the

Toronto devi bhava went on until about 11 AM. Does

that beat Rhode Island's?

Wow, it sounds like Amma did a repeat performance! This song was playing at the

end,

during the weddings, and Devi Bhava also ended around 11am or so! =)

Those were certainly some rocking, high-octane weddings!!! =)

(I remember Jai Ma Ambe was playing when I got married...and it still gives me

chills!)

Namaste,

Iswari
