Robin's mantra question

Namah Shivaya Robinji :),

What Manoj said is good. Here is a personal experience to add to it. Last year

in RI a woman told me that she repeatedly demanded during her darshan from Amma,

"Amma, make me say my mantra 9,000 times a day!" Amma finally said in English,

"Every breath should be a mantra." It seems to me that the "Om lokah ..." chant

is more of a prayer. But, that your personal mantra, imbued with Amma's divine

energy, is the one that's best to chant most often. I read that Amma said

something like, the quality of a spiritual aspirant is determined by how well

they follow the Guru's instructions. This gives us even more incentive to chant

mantras!

Since Swami Dayamritra has asked the SR satsang to meet every week for chanting

the 1,000 names of the Divine Mother in response to what Amma foresaw, I think

that would be helpful for all of us to do more often.

During the SR retreat I missed a talk given by the swami who wears an orange

hood over his head. I caught that he talked about saying our mantras until they

end in silence. Did anyone on this list attend that talk? If yes, I would love

to hear more details of what he said.

With love,

Sweta

suppose to chant Om Lokhaha Samasthaha Sukhino Bhavantu, which do I

chant? If I chant both, which do I chant more? Very confused here.

Namah Shivaya Robin.

Looks like no one answered you (at least on-list), so let me see if

I can help.

Chant both. as much as you comfortably can.

You can try a timetable. Like mornings can be your mantra, and

evenings for 10 mins/30 mins/1 hr, whatever time you are

comfortable, invest in the "Om Lokah..." mantra for the world. My

suggestion would be to do this in multiples of 108 and offer it at

the end of each 108 repetition.

In between while doing mundane chores at work or in the house, you

can repeat your personal mantra.... additionally, if you can find

time to do the LS too, then God bless you!

Don't be confused .... you are doing fine.

Jai Ma!
