Guest guest
Om Amriteswaryai Namaha! I think "Amrita" is "the nectar that bestows immortality" although I have run into some conflicting opinions on what exactly is meant by "immortality." My feeling is that it implies liberation from birth/death cycle (i.e. knowledge of atman's eternal nature) but some have insisted to me that it means physical immortality (i.e. live in this body forever, which I'm not too keen on). Soooo.... I believe the mantra means, "I bow to the embodiment of the nectar that bestows immortality," (Amma, of course!) I am always amazed at the deep meditative state I experience as we all chant this mantra while waiting for Mother to enter the hall. love, Prajna Read only the mail you want - Mail SpamGuard.
