This is exactly the information I was looking for. Now I have one more question. I know that people are doing this meditation for 30 minutes, but I can't recall which mantra was suggested. Do you remember? Is it the lokah samustha mantra? There is also a sankalpa, occurring every night at 10:30 pm to say the lokah samutha mantra for 10 minutes. So many people, so much prayer; it must help! Again, my thanks. Jai Ma ~ Linda

Yes, I think it was "Lokah Samastah Sukinoh Bhavantu".. someone correct me if I;m wrong. as I await 0000 GMT (7 PM Eastern), when I fire up my shortwave radio and listen to "at the tone zero hours, zero minutes Coordinated Universal Time" on WWV (time signal station),then immediately tune in BBC World Service to hear Big Ben bong in the new year.
