Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya: At a Vedanta Society of Northern California Retreat New Years Day the Senior Swami informed me that no Ramakrishna Mission centers were effected by the Tsunami. They have a very large center in Chennai but were spared damage. What is the Amma connection? Two of the 108 names of Ammachi refer to Sri Ramakrishna's consort Sri Sarada Deva. One of the 108 names likens Amma to both Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Sarada Devi. In and For Amma, GeorgeSon
Guest guest
GeorgeMon: The RK center in Chennai is deep inside the city. There is no way they would had any tsunami damage, unlike Amma's ashram which is just on the seashore. There is an update by Dayamrita Swami (available at www.amritapuri.org), where he describes the flooding. Apparently Amma told him that she was expecting this for a week, and that there would be more troubles in 2005 (not trying to scare anyone OK); though quite honestly every hear I have heard that this year is going to bad, so I think this is just Amma's way of whipping everyone to engage in more spiritual practices- nothing works like fear:-). -yogaman > At a Vedanta Society of Northern California Retreat New Years Day the > Senior Swami informed me that no Ramakrishna Mission centers were > effected by the Tsunami.
