Guest guest
http://www.hindu.com/2005/04/03/ Kerala Conversion alleged in Alapad THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, APRIL 2. The former Union Minister and BJP leader O. Rajagopal has urged the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, to withdraw the permission granted to missionary organisations to construct houses for the tsunami-affected people in Alapad panchayat of Kollam district. Talking to presspersons here on Friday, he said the Government should respect the people's wishes and the houses should be constructed either by the State administration or by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. The people in that area were not willing to accept the houses constructed by the missionary organisations as they feared that they would be forced to convert once they accepted the houses, he said. Mr. Rajagopal alleged that the missionaries in the area were resorting to "aggressive conversion" by offering money and jobs abroad to the people. He criticised the Chief Minister for not according permission to the Mata Amritananda Mayi Math, which had promised to construct houses free of cost in the tsunami-affected areas. He claimed that the missionary organisations, which had not turned up during relief works after the December 26 tsunami, were granted permission to construct a large number of houses. - UNI -

But they need all the converts they can get in the Third World, with mainstream Christianity dying off in Europe and North America. Indeed, the next Pope may come from Africa or Latin America. Meanwhile, in Cochin's Nehru Stadium, India's cricket team kicked some Pakistani butt. Yes, this is the same stadium that hosted Amritavarsham 2003! There's still some good shakti on that field! http://www.hindu.com/2005/04/03/stories/2005040301731700.htm Keval
