Guest guest
Jai Michelle: I have only minutes but I would like to respond to some of your questions. I have never been to a retreat before, and am hoping that some of those who have may be able to help. Can one attend only a few days of the retreat? -------------- I don't know the policy. Retreats are usually only a few days. It is best to be in the continuous energy of the retreat without outside influences. Can anyone attend Devi Bhava ----------------- Yes. Can darshan be received during both the public program and Devi Bhava and is only one darshan usually allowed per Mother's visit per person? -------------- Usually, depending on the crowds, you may receive one Darshan per day. Sometimes more. People seeing Mother for the first time, get priority. What happens on the retreat/what is it like? -------------- The retreat is a glorious Experience! One persons experience may be totally difference from the next persons. Each receive whatever they need/are ready to receive to the degree of their Openness. I don't know where to begin! --------------- Perfect. You have already begun. Let the mind jabber with confusion ... just do not pay any attention to it. When the mind goes off in its rampage, bring your focus back to your Heart. Set your intention to attend it all! Ask Mother that you can ... be open to whatever happens. Guest guest
I have never been to a retreat before, and am hoping that some of those who have may be able to help. Can one attend only a few days of the retreat? Can anyone attend Devi Bhava or do you have to be part of the retreat to attend? I don't think my work schedule will allow me to attend all of the retreat, so I am wondering about this. Can darshan be received during both the public program and Devi Bhava and is only one darshan usually allowed per Mother's visit per person? What happens on the retreat/what is it like? During the public program do some go in the morning and stay all through till the evening program? I will be going to the Boston area programs and will probably only be able to get 2 days off of work and am confused about what days or nights would be best to attend in order to best utilize that once-a-year time with Mother. I apologize for the barrage of questions, but I don't know where to begin! Any advice, opinions and experiences will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance! Guest guest
Dear Michelle, if you have a limited number of days and can afford the retreat fee, I'd strongly suggest going to the retreat. Even though it's a lot of people, it's a more intimate and - I think - deeper environment somehow. In addition to regular morning and evening darshan programs - (you are allowed one darshan each day, and you can choose at which program you want to have it) - there are other opportunities, such as meditation, public Q&A with Amma, dinner served by Amma and spiritual discourses and bhajan workshops with the swamis. If you do come to the retreat, you might consider not having darshan at the regular public program, simply because there will be a limited number of tokens and there might not be enough for those not attending the retreat (although on the - public - Devi Bhava, there are generally enough tokens for everyone). I hope this helps!
