I'd love to hear how everyone found "Amma" I am going to meet her for the first time in 23 more days. Dear Lori ~ welcome! I am so glad you are going to get to see Amma soon. It will be a wonderful, life transforming experience. I first met Amma about 15 years ago. I was visiting my sister, and she took me to a little church in NYC. It was at a time when there were still not huge crowds, so it was very special to be with her in that context. I brought some white flowers to give Amma, and one of the bramacharinis came up to me and asked me if she could have the flowers. My first reaction was one of indignance ("I" wanted to give Amma the flowers). But I gave her all the flowers. My sister set me straight. She told me it was incredibly special that they wanted to use my flowers. Later, I noticed that they were preparing Amma's chair. It was just an armchair with a nice white covering over it. One person was clipping my flowers and putting them all over the top of the chair. What a thrill. It no longer mattered to me whether Amma knew I had brought her those flowers. I was happy as a kid in a candy shop. : ) Blessngs ~ Linda
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Linda, What a beautiful story. I'm sure meeting "Amma" will be transformation. Have you met Her several times? Do you still live in NY? What area? I was born and raised in NY. (Bronx, Queens and mostly Long Island). I will definitely let you know about my experience. I am going to Her public program and retreat. I can't wait! love, Lori Ammachi, nierika@a... wrote: > > Lori wrote: > > I am new to the Ammachi message board. My name is Lori.
