Guest guest Posted July 8, 2005 Report Share Posted July 8, 2005 visvanathan wrote: in regard to Amma/Kali stories, i had one interesting experience several years ago.....it was an extraordinarily blissful experience to be able to walk informally along side of Amma for a few minutes... after my seva, i went for the "morning darshan" even though it was early afternoon...a friend (Prashant) had come back from India somewhat earlier, and he had visited Dakshineswar Temple, to have the Darshan of our Beloved Mother Kali. ....Lying underneath the extremely crackily noisy plastic bag...was a lovely composite picture of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, His Darling Wife, Sarada (also believed to be an incarnation of Kali...in fact both of them were so seen by many devotees) and just between them several famous images of Mother Kali with one image above the next one in a kind of ascending pillar of Kalis...it was (and IS) lovely and inspiring to behold... ....as i got closer to Amma, i took the picture out of my MA Center handbag, and thought..."oh i'd better unwrap it"...so i started unwrapping this extremely noisy, crinkly crackily cellophane, or whatever it was...absorbed as i was in trying to be quiet (unsuccessfully...as the plastic would not co-operate in the least)...suddenly my friend Sumitra who was behind me, tapped urgently on the shoulder, and whispered urgently.."Listen to the music!!"...she wasn't scolding me, she was just trying to get me to listen...suddenly as i had pulled out the Kali composite picture, the lady on stage had started singing songs for KALI!!!and the rest of the time until AFTER i had my Darshan, the lady sang songs for the Divine Mother alone!! that was amazing!...when i got up for Amma's Darshan, i excitedly grabbed the picture, and showed it to Amma...saying something like..."Look here...see this?!!...This is YOU Amma..Kali!!! You are Kali aren't you??!!!" i wasn't asking Her really, i was TELLING Her...(such impertinence!!) Amma looked at the picture for just a fraction of a second, and putting it aside, She exclaimed LOUDLY "YAHHH KALI!!!" and with a big smile drew me in to Her embrace...muttering over and over..."Son, son, son, son...daaarling, daaarling son..." Dear visvanathan ~ thank you so much for sharing these beautiful stories. I am soaring with bliss. I wonder if you could put the picture of the ascending pillars of Kali in the Photo section of our page. I would so love to see it.
