in regard to Amma/Kali stories, i had one interesting experience

several years ago.....it was an extraordinarily blissful experience to

be able to walk informally along side of Amma for a few

minutes...

after my seva, i went for the "morning darshan" even though it was

early afternoon...a friend (Prashant) had come back from India

somewhat earlier, and he had visited Dakshineswar Temple, to have the

Darshan of our Beloved Mother Kali.

....Lying underneath the extremely crackily noisy plastic bag...was a

lovely composite picture of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, His Darling

Wife, Sarada (also believed to be an incarnation of Kali...in fact

both of them were so seen by many devotees) and just between them

several famous images of Mother Kali with one image above the next

one in a kind of ascending pillar of Kalis...it was (and IS) lovely

and inspiring to behold...

....as i got closer to Amma, i took the picture out of my MA Center

handbag, and thought..."oh i'd better unwrap it"...so i started

unwrapping this extremely noisy, crinkly crackily cellophane, or

whatever it was...absorbed as i was in trying to be quiet

(unsuccessfully...as the plastic would not co-operate in the

least)...suddenly my friend Sumitra who was behind me, tapped

urgently on the shoulder, and whispered urgently.."Listen to the

music!!"...she wasn't scolding me, she was just trying to get me to

listen...suddenly as i had pulled out the Kali composite picture, the

lady on stage had started singing songs for KALI!!!and the rest of

the time until AFTER i had my Darshan, the lady sang songs for the

Divine Mother alone!!

that was amazing!...when i got up for Amma's Darshan, i excitedly

grabbed the picture, and showed it to Amma...saying something

like..."Look here...see this?!!...This is YOU Amma..Kali!!! You are

Kali aren't you??!!!" i wasn't asking Her really, i was TELLING

Her...(such impertinence!!)

Amma looked at the picture for just a fraction of a second, and

putting it aside, She exclaimed LOUDLY "YAHHH KALI!!!" and with a

big smile drew me in to Her embrace...muttering over and over..."Son,

son, son, son...daaarling, daaarling son..."

Dear visvanathan ~ thank you so much for sharing these beautiful stories. I

am soaring with bliss. I wonder if you could put the picture of the ascending

pillars of Kali in the Photo section of our page. I would so love to

see it. Blessings ~ Linda
