As I write this Amma is headed toward the Asian continent. Do some of you feel better when She is walking on North American soil? Is it dis-comforting when Amma goes back to native India? I know Amma dwells in my heart. Nevertheless the inner child wants Her on my land, on my soil. This is just on the feeling level. Immature? Yes very. It is hoped that I outgrow this. Dear GeorgeSon ~ first, well who am I to answer such a serious question, but I do not think it is immature for devotees to want Amma near. When She leaves India, all Her devotees there are thrown into the sorrow of separation, and they live with Her. So I don't think you should be self-deprecating about this at all. Your sorrow is a measure of your Love for Amma, and yes, it is attached to Her physical form, but after all, that is how She chose to come to our much in need of care planet. Second, for whatever reason, I don't feel the sorrow of Her leaving our soil. I am so happy that Her children in Asia will be able to see Her. We are a worldwide satsang, and so we are all connected with each other and with Amma, wherever She is. I know this thought seems abstract to some, but for me it is very concrete. I KNOW Amma is in my heart, and I know Her love flows to me through Her devotees. We share Her love and compassion daily with our quotes, comments, stories, feelings and questions in this digest. I believe that different people feel differently about Amma's physical presence or absence, and neither is right or wrong, mature or immature, just different. Amma Herself has told us to cry for God, which means crying for our Guru. This is one of the highest forms of devotion. Of course, this is just my humble opinion.
