Dear Mahamuni ~ actually, there are over 700 members of the group. Not all are active (visible) on the digest all at once. I guess this is good for me because I am 4 digests behind right now, and if all 700 people always participated in every digest, I don't think I'd ever get away from the computer. Some people seem like "regulars" ~ they are participating actively much of the time, but even among these, myself for example, sometimes they have reasons why they may be gone for several days or more. Some people call themselves "lurkers," which I actually think is a bit more negative feeling that how I view these people. These are people who read the digest everyday, but don't post. Every now and then, one will post, and write that they have been reading the digest, but only now feel a sense of wanting to be active. There are people who come and go because of their busy lives, and when they are here, we are always glad to see them. Then perhaps many of the other members belong to the group, simply because they are devotees of Ammachi, and maybe they spend more of their time on the page, reading through files or looking at the many beautiful pictures. But I did think your question was an interesting one. I was used to all of the above ways people participate in a digest from other digests I have belonged to. The nearly a year I have been part of this group, I have experienced all sorts of ways people come and go, and are active or visible as part of the digest ... but even the ones that seem to go, are really part of the group, unless they have d. There is a cohesion and loving respect within this group that I have found rare on other digests. And perhaps that is why we feel we are a kind of unique satsang. But if there actually were even only 10, that would be okay too. In the town I live, after several years of prayer, we finally have a satsang. Sometimes I feel we are a satsang in name only, because, up until recently all that people wanted to do was watch movies of Amma. Our group is anywhere from 3 to 6 people ... teensy. And yet the feeling of devotion is there, and at our last satsang people finally agreed to add an activity to the movie watching ~ 10 minutes of prayer. !0 minutes or 10 people. Ten is better than one if the "group" or prayer is the context. On the other hand One is better than 10 or 15 or even 700.
