That little thing that Amma tries to knock out of us! I'm not suggesting that one should simply Awaken to avoid experiencing a fear of a big earthquake, because geeze, if only we could! But to remember that Amma has blessed us with an awareness of what is on the other side of our sleep, and to perhaps find comfort in that... Dear Romi ~ I really appreciated every single thing you said in your writing of judgement. I'm still learning ... to let go when I feel judged (which, with my family, is frequent) ... to be aware of judgements I may have of others so Devi can shine Her flashlight of awareness and help me let go. I don't judge the path, but I do judge my toe for being stupid enough to stub itself. Isn't that silly? This is kind of representative of the way I am not too kind to myself. I am my worst judge. But I do believe in Oneness, and I do believe that, within the Oneness, there is no opposition or judgement, or what appears, when we are outside of the Oneness to be opposition or judgement, within the Oneness ... well, the boundaries blur and disappear and we see from a larger perspective. (Wow, did I just tie my tongue in a knot with all of that.) What you write is so very important to remember, and so easy to forget, so I thank you for your beautiful reminder. Also, growing up as a 60s hippie, which then kind of blurred into New Age, I don't get the creepy feeling you do, but I use the positive aspect of my Mind to discriminate, and I can pretty well tell what sounds right and what sounds like bunk. I'm going to save what you wrote. Thank you again. Blessings ~ Linda P.S. I am somewhat a longtime student and teacher of the Tarot (I hope you aren't wincing). I have never looked at this as a fortune telling device, but rather as a kind of spiritual software where the images can serve as a mirror, a map, a path. And so many people misunderstand the images. In a class I was giving once, I had to leave all the other students to their own devices while I talked a very distraught woman who had drawn the Death card (letting go, evolving, changing, losing the ego, etc.) out of the idea that it meant literal death. The Judgement card, which is #22, is such a beautiful image. An angel with yellow hair (that has some orange in it) is blowing a yellow trumpet (yellow = Cosmic Consciousness, being Awake, etc.). The angel is Waking Up a bunch of people, who are gray in color and rising out of gray coffins which are floating in the water (Water also represents Cosmic Consciousness on a human level; one dives deep below the surface ripples of reaction, judgement, joy, all of it, and goes below to the Deep, Still Silence ~ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi used the water metaphor a lot in talking about the process of meditation.) Gray symbolizes the Union of Opposites, so these people are already Realized, but until the Angel Woke the Up, they were not aware of it. They all have yellow hair and are raising their arms in celebration or prayer ... also all ages. So the Judgement card really means the letting go of all Judgement, one of those tricky oppositional things that lie hiding within the imagery of the Tarot ... or you could say, hiding in plain sight. Oneness hides in plain sight too.
