You don't need a nuclear physicist to teach 1st grade. Ram Das was an eloquent, inspiring, and funny speaker. Inspired thousands of people, many of whom surely moved on to other teachers, as we all have throughout life. Dear Rick ~ Swami Satyananda Saraswati (of Devi Mandir and Shree Maa) describes this process of going from one guru to another guru, and maybe even another as the upa guru. The upa guru is the guru who gets you to your next guru. In the Chandi Path, there is a beautiful part of the worship that honors the line of gurus ... I bow down to the Guru; I bow down to the para guru; I bow down to the parapara guru ... and so on, although it doesn't go much beyond that, yet is is beautiful. You've also described this process very well. Jai Ma ~ Linda
