It's her way of blessing the people in the picture. The "ointment" is sandal paste.
Guest guest
What is the significance of her applying sandalpaste to the forehead sometimes to certain people? Is it random, or is it a type of extra blessing when the person is in need? I have wondered this for some time.... She may not consciously know that this or that person needs a blessing, or all the details of why they need it (come to think of it, does anyone not need a blessing?), but she spontaneously blesses those who do. Guest guest
I once gave Amma a photo of my father, who was standing in front of a large picture of Swami Kripalu (who had already left his body). When She handed the photo back to me, I was surprized to find that She put sandal paste on the Swami's forehead. I also gave Amma a photo of my sister, her fiance and their dog, and I am pretty sure She put sandal on the dog as well!:-) Nischala
Guest guest
Hi Ananthasree, In my opinion, it is not at all a random act. Very intentional and somewhat rarely done too. It is like an extra blessing when one is really in need of Amma's help or when one is grappling with inner issues, kind of like a spiritual immunization :-). This has been my experience as well as many others that I have spoken to. -yogaman Ammachi, "Ananthasree" <michellewalsh88@h...> wrote: > > > What is the significance of her applying sandalpaste to the forehead sometimes to certain > people? Guest guest
Hey Tembaji, Hope things are going well with you. You are absolutely right, I should not interpret things in the light of my limited understanding.
