Guess this child has a long way to go..... Dear Prasadini ~ if this is not a "sales pitch" for enlightenment, I can't think of a better one. (Just kidding about the sales pitch part) But this is part of what we long for. I have experienced numerous times a state of complete Oneness, sometimes with nature, sometimes with people on a subway, sometimes just a general feeling that came over me wherever I happened to be. They didn't last, as you say ... but part of being in the Oneness is to be outside the circus of button pushing. And in that state, even if someone else's buttons get pushed, and they get angry, we don't take it on personally. I wonder if being in that state would make me feel less attached to my illnesses and their symptoms or to how my family has treated, is treating me. It reminds me of the man who took the knife that was meant for Amma. When I talked to him in the hospital, he was so detached, it was almost as if he was embarrassed to be getting attention. He didn't seem to mind at all. He was wonderful to talk with. Examples are all around us ... even here in our writings, we can imbibe a sense of that oneness...
