Dear Advait and all ~ though I fear this will become another online argument, which neither Mother, nor from what I have read, Tookie would want, rather than a discussion. However, I felt compelled to go to the website and see for myself what was there. My hope is that someone will maintain this website and the sale of his book for the intention with which they were created. I do believe change is possible, yet I know our prison system is not set up to really encourage that. People somehow do it on their own or through programs like Circle of Love Inside that come into the prisons with friendship, compassion and hope. I think Tookie said it all in his "Final Words From Tookie." (...This is only a partial quote from the whole.) "Your faith, wisdom, concern, and guidance can help show them the way. Never allow yourself to be distracted or discouraged by detractors and dissenters...This peace protocol is not the solution. Look in the mirror. There is the solution!" Does this sound familiar to anyone? And for anyone who is interested, Tookie's book "Blue Rage, Black Redemption" has been made into a movie, which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The name of the movie is "Redemption," and the DVD can be purchased at the FoxStore.com I believe that Tookie's work will live on and influence many more people who need to hear and see what he had to say. I am sad for the victims. I am sad for Tookie. But I believe that Tookie is now on the "other side," and will continue his work from there before possibly taking on another body. Because of my own life struggles with the "criminal within," I know that loving is more powerful than pain and service is more powerful than hate. In the end, no one will be left out, though we may go 'round and 'round the wheel quite a bit. I don't know what else to say. May Mother's arms wrap around the family who suffered the terrible loss. May her arms wrap around Tookie. I believe Her arms already do. Jai Ma ~ Linda
