Guest guest
Dearest Bela, Someone has probably answered this question already (I'm behind on the digest again) but I'll answer it anyway. Here are my favorite bhajan sites. My most favorite: _http://www.amma.de/webradio/playlist_wma/cgi-bin/playlist_en.cgi_ (http://www.amma.de/webradio/playlist_wma/cgi-bin/playlist_en.cgi) another one: _http://www.amma.de/eservice/bhajan_library/a.php3_ (http://www.amma.de/eservice/bhajan_library/a.php3) This is a german Amma site, but the bhajans are still in Malayalam or Tamil or however Amma and Her ensemble sing them. It is a short selection of bhajans, but some of my favorites are there ~ like Amma Amma Taya, the Arati, Ganesha Namah Om, and more. On this site, in the upper right corner are some little graphics. One looks kind of like a megaphone attached to a eighth note. When you click on the graphic, it will bring up a box that asks you to select a media player. Select one you have. If you don't have either of the two offered, you can download them for free. _http://www.amma.de/_ (http://www.amma.de/) This is from the same German site, but it is a short selection of songs, with an A - Z listing, with a lot more bhajans. This is not a listening site, but if you click on one of the songs, it will bring up the lyrics in Malayalam, Tamil, or Sanskrit, and includes a translation in English and German. In between the lyrics and the translation, there is a note as to what tape the song is from. For example, the first one on the list ~ A Jiva Nantam ~ is on Amritanjali tape #8. Here is the English translation of A Jiva Nantam (so beautiful): I will worship till the end of my life but rid me of my sorrow today. O Goddess, Primal Supreme Power, bless me, remove my grief. O Mother who grants all desires, o Universal Maya who fulfills all desires, Thy form is energy, the support of all, Parvathi, the eternal embodiment of Truth. How many sufferings I am bearing. Why art Thou delaying to cast Thy gracious glance? O Mother, drown me not in Thy Maya. I bow to Thy Feet always. Even though the second two are the same site, the list of bhajans you can actually listen to is shorter than the bhajans in the A - Z library, but what a great way of listening while you type (just whistle while you work...), and it's a good way of finding bhajans, especially via the "Library," that you might want the tape for. It is wonderful to listen to these bhajans while reading the digest. : ) Jai Ma ~ Linda
