SofA, i totally agree with everything you said here and have nothing

but Love for you and your mission. but with that said i would say

what do you expect? Caprini Green is prime real estate less that a

1/4 mile from the lakefront. you have people in that area paying a

couple of grand a month rent, then you have the projects where

people are paying like $60/month. i admit the projects were just

that "a project." one that failed miserably. but of course the city

is going to move the project's people out. it's economics, not about

fair. as they say, you can hate the game but don't hate the

players. to create change, create unity, we had best learn to play,

because the game's been the same since the beginning of time.

 

this topic brings to mind a couple of quotes. the first, is the

quote of the day from the Devi Mandir group. a quote of Sri

Ramakrishna;

 

"Desires and attachments bind people's lives, and because of this

their independence flees. In order to fulfill desires, resources

are necessary. For that reason we become servants to others, and

our freedom is lost."

 

 

the second a poem by the Father/Leader of the Hip Hop movement, none

other than KRS1;

intelligent enough to open up their eyes and see through the lies

The rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer, in the final

hour many heads will lose power.

 

What does the rich vs. poor really mean? Psychologically it means

you got to pick your team.

 

When someone says the rich get richer, visualize wealth and put

yourself in the picture.

 

The rich get richer cause they work towards rich. The poor get

poorer because they mind can't switch, from the ghetto, let go, its

not a novelty, you can love your neighborhood without loving

poverty, follow me.

 

Every Mother, Father, son, daughter, there is no reason to fear the

new world order. We must order the whole new world to pay us. The

new world order, and the old state chaos. The big brother watching

over you is a lie you see, hip hop can build its own secret

society. But first, you and I got to unify, stop the negativity and

control our creativity.

 

The rich get richer so why we ain't richer, could it be we still

thinkin' like niggers? Educate yourselves, make your world view

bigger, visualize wealth and put yourselves in the picture."
