Guest guest
Jay Maa I understand that it is recommended while receiving mantra to chant it along with LS, has Amma recommended any other stotras such as Sri Khadgamala or Sri Suktam , LS I tried to do every-morning however for time reason am not always able to do it. Guest guest
Start with a smaller number of names and work your way up. You can always do the 108 names of Devi that we do at the Atma pujas until you are ready. Also there is the LS in the stotram form instead of the Namavali. - joannapollner Ammachi Thursday, March 02, 2006 4:12 AM Mantras+Stotras Jay Maa I understand that it is recommended while receiving mantra to chant it along with LS, has Amma recommended any other stotras such as Sri Khadgamala or Sri Suktam , LS I tried to do every-morning however for time reason am not always able to do it. Guest guest
namaste, i know devotees, including myself, who do 100/200/300/ whatever we can do at the time and then continue from where we left off later in the day. this way we can even do it when traveling by train, bus, air, etc. thinking that we must do the whole thing or not at all will prevent us from doing it more often and learning it faster, etc. i also heard from a devotee who was on the fast track who did the whole LS at least two times daily. another option is to do the LS Namavali( 1000 names or part of it ) in the morning because it's energizing and to do the LS Stotram( without OM ..Namaha; this is shorter than Namavali ) in the evening since it seems more calming for mediation/sleep. also, i started with 108 names of amma first( before tackling 1000 names of LS ) and do that if i have only 10 minutes. amma usually does not recommend but teaches us by example. so far she has not chanted Sri Khadgamala or Sri Suktam; but she does sing the mahishasura mardini and this has been added as part of the morning routine at amritapuri ~ which includes 108names of amma, then 1000 LS, then mahishasura mardini, then a short arati( waving of lights ), then chai( optional ) amma's blessings, amarnath ps ~ my partner has done the Sri Khadgamala and Sri Suktam for some time in the past; everylittle bit of spiritual practice helps; it cannot hurt. may all beings everywhere be happy and healthy and peaceful ! Guest guest
namaste manoj, of course you are right ! thanks for this reminder. with amma everything is optional; it is up to us ! there are no hard-and-fast rules which helps prevent dogma, etc. amma only gives us love and whatever she does to us invisibly at the inner level it is up to us to discipline ourselves as best we can and if we fail GET ANOTHER HUG ! what a loving mother we have. jai amma, amarnath Ammachi, "manoj_menon" <ammademon wrote: ACTUALLY, chai is mandatory.... in fact for me, that is the only one that is mandatory! Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, I had a dream in which I think I asked Amma how many times a day I should chant LS. The answer was 2. I asked one of Amma's swamis if 2x/day was O.K., & I recall that he said as many as possible. Now to try to actually do it! I guess if one chants LS like this One could do it easily few times a day , I learned LS five years ago from Ammachi's LS . The pronounciation seems ok , but I cant seem to make it go faster . It usually takes me an hour then I like to leave half an hour for mantra + meditation . This means I have to get up at around 4:30 am , which probably is a good think ................ )) , it is interesting You mentioned Amma's Dream that seems to be the way I find my way around Amma " She told me once You are the patient I am the doctor " .
