Guest guest
DEAR THOMAS, PATANJALI WARNS THAT WITH SPIRITUAL PRACTICES, SIDDHIS( POWERS WILL COME ); ACKNOWLEDGING THEM AND SURRENDERING THEM( GIVING THEM UP ) ONE PROGRESSES SPIRITUALLY. GETTING STUCK ON THEM, TALKING ABOUT THEM AND USING THEM AS SIGNS THAT YOU ARE SUPERIOR TO OTHERS, IS A SURE WAY FOR A FALL. AS FAR AS TRUTH IS CONCERNED, imho, THERE IS NO HIGHER TRUTH THAN LOVE, COMPASSION, HUMILITY. Guest guest
namaste to all, thanks to rick, surya, chitanand and others for using wise and loving words as examples of what to do thanks to tom, and others for using un-wise and insensitive words as clear examples of what NOT to do "we are born to bless not to punish!" ~ mmy may amma bless all of us, amarnath Ammachi, Rick Archer <amma wrote: > > on 3/30/06 12:04 PM, amarnath at anatol_zinc wrote: > > > DEAR THOMAS, > > > > PATANJALI WARNS THAT WITH SPIRITUAL PRACTICES, SIDDHIS( POWERS WILL > > COME ); ACKNOWLEDGING THEM AND SURRENDERING THEM( GIVING THEM UP ) > > ONE PROGRESSES SPIRITUALLY. Guest guest
Patanjali "declares" or professes, they'll come, doens't "warn". Giving them up is unnecessary as some will subside because they're temporary. The Third Eye is also the place (as in the 1000 names iccha sakti, kriya sakti, jnaana sakti) of the 3 saktis (will, action, knowledge) that brings about this power. This particular power is not a low or distracting sadhana but a fact of evolution. Discriminitive use of siddhis has always been allowed, and I was making the point that you really don't know who can bless or curse at a time, and that it "is" possible. LOVE, COMPASSION AND HUMILITY WON'T BRING THE GURU'S GRACE WHICH AWAKENS THE KUNDALINI AND CAUSES IT TO RISE. REAL EVOLUTION CAN ONLY OCCUR WITH IT. YOU CAN BE LOVING, ETC, AND STILL BE IGNORANT. WHAT DOES THE WORD GURU MEAN? tom Ammachi, "amarnath" <anatol_zinc wrote: > > DEAR THOMAS, > > PATANJALI WARNS THAT WITH SPIRITUAL PRACTICES, SIDDHIS( POWERS WILL > COME ); ACKNOWLEDGING THEM AND SURRENDERING THEM( GIVING THEM UP ) > ONE PROGRESSES SPIRITUALLY. Guest guest
Blessings and curses can be seen differently. Bless someone to live a 1000 years, and it might be experienced as a curse. Curse someone to die, and you might be granting their wish. At a certain stage in sadhana, to the best of my knowledge, your spiritiual fire is intense enough to burn away most if not all of your actions, true surrender to Dharma (etc.). Doing your actions, sadhana or other, with full faith and shraddha, can only bring you closer to ultimate truth and reality. Believe me, I always take responsibility when I'm wrong, it's the only way to grow from mistakes. But the "princinple" of acceptance, non-violence, etc, are "beliefs" that can be used against oneself or the world. tom Ammachi, Rick Archer <amma wrote: > > on 3/30/06 12:04 PM, amarnath at anatol_zinc wrote: > > > DEAR THOMAS, > > > > PATANJALI WARNS THAT WITH SPIRITUAL PRACTICES, SIDDHIS( POWERS WILL > > COME ); ACKNOWLEDGING THEM AND SURRENDERING THEM( GIVING THEM UP ) > > ONE PROGRESSES SPIRITUALLY. Guest guest
dear tom, namaste, imho, you are simply wrong on all counts here. i guess you never had a heart opening experience and therefore do not know the difference between the head and the heart which amma talks about all the time. my suggestion is that you ask amma about your convictions. no use talking to us ignoramuses. may god bless you and open your heart. LOVE-SERVE-AWAKEN is what amma teaches the most, imho. by the way, in order to awaken, the kundalini does not have to necessarily rise. for some it does. others awaken without even noticing the kundalini. those who do notice it, for some it's very smooth while for others it's very rough and tough. but, don't listen to me, ASK AMMA. i feel you are in dire need of Her Advice and Guidance on these matters. we cannot really help you except to offer our opinions. amma's blessings as always, amarnath Ammachi, "Tom" <tomgull wrote: > > Patanjali "declares" or professes, they'll come, doens't "warn". > Giving them up is unnecessary as some will subside because they're > temporary. > > The Third Eye is also the place (as in the 1000 names iccha sakti, > kriya sakti, jnaana sakti) of the 3 saktis (will, action, knowledge) > that brings about this power.
