Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, This is from Amma.org, in an article about Mother's Kitchen. "When Amma first mentioned her dream of feeding the poor, she also spoke of the future shelters for the homeless and the elderly." After working in a shelter for 1 year, it's clear what a beautiful thing it would be for Amma's devotees to sponsor a shelter. Themba & I discussed that bringing homeless persons for Amma's darshan, could easily plant seeds for such a project. Can you imagine devotees offering seva to their homeless brothers 7 sisters. And, the homeless persons having a safe, loving & spiritual environment? On the drive home from the MA Center, I day dreamed about how homeless people could raise flowers for Amma's tours. I sincerely hope that devotees in many areas begin sponsoring homeless persons for Amma's darshan. Many of these people have been through such difficult & humbling circumstances, that they are sure to be open to, & thirsty for Amma's Love. Themba & I agreed that we want this to start relatively small, but want this effort to grow. We'll keep this group posted about the events as they unfold. I hope that many are inspired to sponsor homeless persons' darshans in their tour locations. Here is a beautiful quote from the Mother's Kitchen article" "Children, love the poor wholeheartedly. Go to their level. Believe that it is your dharma, your God-given duty to love and serve the poor. No matter how rich we are, as long as we are not prepared to be compassionate towards the poor, we are truly living in utter poverty. Such people are the true destitutes in the eyes of God. It is no use lighting a lamp before God and making offerings in the temple if you do not care to provide some light to the unlit hovels of the poor. We should love them and we should serve them. Without this, no amount of meditation we may do will bestow on us the bliss of meditation. It is kindness and service to others that imparts the sweetness of meditation." ---Amma New Messenger with Voice. Call regular phones from your PC for low, low rates.
