When i joined this group, i used a ID that i had created years ago to buy things on-line to try to keep my real email free of as much spam as i can. i d that id and created a new profile using my real name and email address and re-d. An Intro: My name is Mike Montoya. i am 55, and was born and raised in the LA area. i was raised a Catholic, but changed my "church" to nature and moved to Mariposa at the age of 21, a sleepy little town just outside Yosemite where i camp and backpack among the giant sequioas, waterfalls, and the Sierras, when just living in the woods isn't enough. It is a holy place. i am single now and have 3 wonderful children, one of which, my youngest daughter Misha, introduced me to Amma. Misha is a fireball, snowboarder, rock climber, mountain-biker, etc. but just a couple of weeks after her 18th birthday had a devastating fall while climbing and broke her body badly. The surgery to put her back together took 4 teams of surgeons and lasted over 12 hours. This was nearly 5 years ago. She is paraplegic and spends most of her time in a wheelchair or on crutches and her pain gets worse and worse as time goes on. She has always been very spiritual, and a couple of years ago, while she was living in Santa Cruz, began telling me of this wonderful woman that gives hugs. About this time, she married Jeff, one of the most wonderful people walking this planet, a true Saint, and they became devotees of Amma. Their wedding in Yosemite was very beautiful and when a native american holy man from the area called the spirits to bless their union, a wind came up out of nowhere that shook the trees around us and the leaves rustling nearly drowned out the Hummingbird song he was singing. i couldn't make the retreat last June in San Ramon, and Misha and Jeff left for Amritapuri in August for 6 months. Jeff has facial tattos, one being a large crescent across his forehead, and when Amma spotted him in Amritapuri, She came up to him and asked him why he had tattoed his face. He told her that it was so Amma would notice him. She thought this was great and promptly named him Mahesvara which is somehow associated with a similar crescent marking on a manifestation of Shiva. When I picked them up at the airport in SF this last February, we stopped by the ashram to drop off some things they had "muled" for Amma and the devotees there already knew of Mahesvara and told me that he was considerd a saint in Amritapuri, but then i already knew that. i did make the November Retreat, going with a friend that is very spiritual and was a devotee of Sri Sri Ananda Murti (sp?). She too is now an Amma devotee. i spent the 3 most wonderful days of my life (up to that point) in Amma's arms. When i received Darshan, I just broke down and all those years of seeking for Her just erupted out of me. She wouldn't let me go and kept pulling me back over and over as i soaked her with my tears. i'm sure that you all know what i am talking about. There you have it. My sweet baby has declined to ask for healing from Amma, because she feels that there are so many others needing help, so i pray to Amma to ease her pain, and would like to ask that any of you that can spare a few seconds, include her in your prayers. Her name is Misha Montoya. In Mother's arms, Mike
Guest guest
Thanks for sharing this inspiring, sometimes sad and amazing story. I loved how the wind rustled when a blessing was called upon for your daughter's wedding. I also love hearing how others come to Amma. I think I can speak for many of us on here, we certainly understand the tears! But I also have to say, that there are a few people I know who are frustrated that they have not ever been able to cry. I am a big crybaby so I don't know what that is like. Amma hears us all no matter if we cry or not. adriane Ammachi, "Mike Montoya" <mmm wrote: > > Ammachi, Omenka Supriti Nnadi <oomenka@> wrote: > > Welcome to the guy from outside Yosemite, what is your name? > > > > Namah Shivaya, > > Sorry for the confusion with the Dusty ID.
