Guest guest
INDEED!!! Amma nails Herself to the cross with repetitive stress injuries, probably neck shoulder/diabetes 12 hours plus a day for thirty straight years. What Christ suffered is certainly terrible. I do not wish to denigrate the crucifixion. Amma does what Amarnath said HOWEVER AND THIS IS A BIG GIGANTIC HOWEVER! She choses to do this. Secondarily Amma POSSIBLY does not suffer like you and I (ordinary seekers). Sri Ramakrishna had advanced throat cancer. Can you imagine how painful that is? We get a sense of mild pain with strep throat. Sri Ramakrishn kept smiling and giving his version of Darshan during His last painful days. I do not understand any of these things. Perhaps Amma does suffer like we do? This is way out of my league. Just attempting to expand the subject by interjecting that she MAY possibly be suffering "differently" than you and I. Ditto Lord Jesus. Guest guest
Well said! But I can assure you that Amma's body feels pain, just like we do. But She can choose to go beyond it and focus elsewhere. I met one baba in India who had one of his arms raised up for the last 24 years. It is a type of austerity known as Ek Bahu--one arm. Very, very few babas do this austerity anymore. Probably 5 or so. Anyway, after a certain amount of years, the arm won't be able to come down. The fingernails grow long and cut into the hand, etc. So I asked him if it still required effort to do this and if he had any pain still. He told me yes and both accounts.
