Guest guest
Dear Kanti, Steve, Parvati and all Divine Family, Thanks so much Kanti for your beautiful insight into chanting! Swamiji was telling us that we can think of Bhagavad Gita as the GOAL. Just like you had said -- there are profound and high states that Lord Sri Krishna describes. But how do we get there? We chant the CHANDI. Swamiji said "Chandi is the path." How is it the path -- the way? Swamiji said that we pray to the Divine Mother (something like this) "You have to help me to get there -- i can't control my mind. Sometimes i can control by breadth. The only thing i can control is my asan -- so as long as it takes, i am going to sit in this aasan, chant your names, chant the Chandi -- You help me to get rid of all the thoughts and take me to the goal." >From this i learnt that Lord Krishna shows us the goal -- and chanting the Chandi, Divine MOther will carry us and take us there!!! :-) Does this make sense? Please share your insights and inspiration -- so we can all together share peace and love with the Universe. Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji! ramya , "jai_shri_devi" <ShriMangala wrote: > > Hi.. > > I have just recently had this insight pertaining to the mirroring > aspects of the Scriptures and the power of chanting them... > > especially Sundar Kandar, Bhagavad Gita and Chandi Path.... > > It has been occuring to me that chanting the texts serves as a > powerful means by which we can acheive the virtues of the characters > as well as the Grace by which we can overcome and rise above our own > negativities and acheive the higher way of being... > > If I read the texts only ...especially the Bhagavad Gita ...it seems > almot impossible to reach the high states Lord Krishna describes by > effort alone and that by chanting the text we not only gain > intellectual understanding but plug into the grace that we can "clean > our mirror" perfectly in order to achieve the Divine.. > > Sorry to go a tad off topic, but had just been thinking about this > prior to reading this post and the two seemed to be related.. > > Was wondering what you all have experienced... > > Love, > Kanti > > , "Steve Connor" <sconnor@> > wrote: > > > > maybe at different times we are different characters, just like > > sometimes we like what we see in the mirror, & sometimes we do not. > > > > steve > > > > > > , "parv108" <parv108@> wrote: > > > > > > Dear All, > > > > > > Recently our beloved Swamiji was discussing the Sundar > > > Kanda which is one of the chapters of the Ramayana. > > > > > > He told this story about the Ramayana which inspired us all to > > > think more deeply: > > > > > > One day a sadhu was going to town and he passed an old > > > widow on his way. Guest guest
Dear Ramyaji: Your post makes total sense..A crystal clear mirror of Our Blessed Swamiji's teachings... Although I have been aware of Devi Mandir for sometime and have enjoyed participating in this group and the Prayer Club..It has only been in the last 6 months that I was swept away by Mother's Love and truly have made a heart connection and now consider myself a devotee :-) Anyway...Earlier this year I started chanting The Chandi as my daily practice...recently have experienced some inner and outer turmoil in my life and knew intuitively that the Grace of Mother via the Chandi was clearing out some major karma & negativity for/in me. A couple of weeks ago I had decided to "cut back" on my recitations because things were getting "too intense".... Your sage advice is telling me to carry on ..that although Mother's Grace and healing purification can come in a way that is a little bumpy...Her love gives us the perspective to be aware that cleansing is taking place and will strengthen us to undergo that purification process when it isn't quite pleasant.. She is Kali Maa, Destroyer of Darkness. She isn't known for being subtle, eh ?????????? :-) Sort of a Cosmic Roto Rooter :-) This was a great post Ramya..I printed it as a reminder... Thanks SOOOOOOOOOO much !! Guest guest
Dear Beloved Family, Thanks so much Kanti for sharing your journey - and inspiration!!!! There are two verses from the Chandi which you may all know - they are really nice to remember to keep us going. :-) Kilakam (verse 4) na mantro nausadham tatra na kincidapi vidyate | vinaa jaapyena siddhyeta sarvam cucaatanadikam || Swamiji translates: There is no mantra, no medicine, nor anything else known, by which indifference to all can be attained without repeated application. Kilakam (verse 8) dadaati prati grhnati nanyathaisa prasidati | ittham rupena kilena mahadevena kilitam || Swamiji translates: As one gives, so in return one does receive, and by no other means is She pleased. And this is the form of the pin by which it has been bound by the Great God. Even in worldly life, if we want to get something (e.g. become a doctor), we have to put effort -- go to Medical school, learn, practice etc. Also, as much effort as we put in -- that much we will get -- So if we study really hard, for many, many years and do much practice and research, we can become a world-famous specialist!!! Same way the Kilakam is teaching us -- If we want to reach Mother's Feet, we have to practice (verse 4) -- there is no other way!!! As much as we give to our practice - to our saadhana and as much as our sadhana fills all parts of our lives -- that much we get as Her Divine Blessings (verse 8). We let Her into our heart, as much as we let Her -- That much She fills our lives!!! Om Maa! I pray to Divine Mother to bless all us, Her children, with the pure energy that opens our minds and hearts to Her will and makes us Her pure instruments in this universe! Thank you for reading. Jai MAA! ramya
