Events at Prashanthi Nilayam

Morning Program

 

Swami came out for Darshan at 7:30 a.m. He came out in the cart and

got down near the ladies side and walked to the podium by 7:45 a.m.

 

He was invited by Panchavadhyam - percussion music by devotees from

Kerala.

 

The program started by chanting of Vedas by students.

 

A good part of the program was dedicated to felicitating Indulal

Shah - a long time member of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.

 

Dr. Goldstein gave an introductory talk and requested Dr.

Venkataraman, Bob Bozzani, Chakravarthi and C.Srinivas to talk about

Indulal Shah.

 

After the talk by the devotees, Swami was requested to release a

book on Swami and Indulal Shah. Swami gave the first copy of the

book to Indulal Shah.

 

Swami then gave a discourse. Swami spoke about His injury. He said

that He got well so soon because of the prayers of devotees all

around the World. He said that there is no Baba without devotees and

there are no devotees without Baba.

 

He also spoke about the services rendered by Sathyajit and Dilip. He

said that it is very difficult to find people like them.

 

Swami then praised the services rendered by Indulal Shah.

 

Swami was then requested to cut a cake, which He did on His way back

to Poornachandra at 9:15 a.m.

 

The entire program was screened live at the Super Specialty Hospital

at Bangalore. It was also streamed to an IP address (internet

address) in the USA as a test to stream live video of Birthday

celebrations.

 

Sweets were distributed to all devotees.

 

Afternoon Program

 

Swami came out for Darshan at 3:40 p.m. in the cart and got down as

usual at the ladies side and walked to the poduim.

 

Swami asked Dr.Shetty - a cardiologist from California to give a

talk. He was instrumental in getting 2 of Swami's students trained

in a University in California.

 

This was followed by a talk by Dr. Giri - Vice Chancellor of Sri

Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. He spoke about the

dedication of the 2 students.

 

Swami then gave away the US diplomas to the 2 students.

 

Swami then asked one of the two students Sriram Parashuram to talk.

He spoke about how Swami helped them at different stages to help

them complete the training.

 

This was followed by Bhajans.

 

Swami retired to Poornachandra at 5:10 p.m.

 

Evening Program

 

At 6:00 p.m. there was a Music Concert by Holland Choir Group. There

were around 40 members in the group. They sang devotional songs. The

program ended at 7:00 p.m.

 

Swami blessed the members of the group and presented them clothes.
