Wake Up Laughing - My Life With Sai Baba is an intimate spiritual

autobiography beginning with my early 1980's adventurous travels

throughout Asia and the wonderful and exciting experiences I had as

I first searched for, then found God Incarnate. Underlying

everything in the chapters that follow, is the extraordinary

transformation that I've experienced over these nearly 20 years with

the greatest Being Who has ever appeared on earth.

 

Part One, `Contemplating Divinity,' details the fun-filled hide-and-

seek search for Him, as well as the trials and adventures which are

an inevitable part of such an arduous investigation and discovery.

Part Two, `Deeper Practice,' highlights my encounters with my ego,

as projected upon India, people and circumstances, during the first

twenty or so journeys there. Having been a long-time student of A

Course in Miracles, I used the daily lessons to assist in my

healing. Finally, in Part Three, `Who Practices?' I become more

stabilized in witness-consciousness and begin to comprehend the

jokes of this incarnation.

 

Sathya Sai Baba has urged me to write in such a way as to uplift and

educate others, as well as to inspire courage, devotion and a

resolve to implement His ageless teachings. Beyond Sai Baba's having

saved my life many times, through rescue and healing, the book

reveals His unique spiritual training for each of us and His

When starting to read Wake Up Laughing by Connie Shaw it appears

like a well-written tourist guide with personal experiences,

offering the reader a great sense of seeing the world through

American eyes, with humorous and open straightforward observations.

This book is compiled over years of journeying and keeping a diary,

in search of God on Earth, starting in India. Detailed clear

descriptions make the reader very familiar with all that Connie Shaw

experienced during her many treks throughout Asia. A year of her

living in Singapore gave her an opportunity to travel to other Asian

countries, learning the many different cultures and continuing her

search. Just as she was about to move back to the U.S.A. with her

husband she was called by Sai Baba to come to India. Their visit to

Puttaparthi turned the writer's life completely around, and started

a life of beautiful devotion to Sathya Sai Baba. Connie Shaw

describes her experiences with Sai Baba during many trips to India,

and her life in the U.S.A. with Sai Baba's guidance. It develops

into a very moving journey, leaving the reader with a realization of

how blessed we are to live in this era filled with miracles.
