Events at Prashanthi Nilayam

Morning

 

Swami came to Sai Kulwant Hall at 6:50 a.m. He came to the lobby.

 

Swami then went to the Gent's side. He made a full round of Sai

Kulwant Hall. He then blessed everyone and went back to

Poornachandra Hall.

 

Students and devotees rushed from Sai Kulwant Hall to Poornachandra

Hall.

 

Swami came to the stage in Poornachandra Hall in a wheeled sofa

around 7:30 a.m. He went from one side of the stage to the other,

blessing the pundits (priests). He then went back inside at 8:00 a.m.

 

Swami then came out at 9:00 a.m. The pundits left toward Sai Kulwant

Hall in a procession. Swami blessed them again as they were going in

a procession. Swami then left the stage and went inside.

 

Pundits returned after 9:20 a.m. after taking bath in preparation

for Poornahuthi (culmination of Dassara Yagna). Swami also came to

the stage at that time and sat near the sacred fire facing the

devotees.

 

At 9:25 a.m. Poornahuthi was performed. Swami blessed the

sacrificial offering before Poornahuthi was performed.

 

Swami materialized a Navarathna Mala (chain with nine different

gems) to the chief pundit. Swami put in on the pundit's neck.

 

Arathi was performed at 10:10 a.m. Swami then retired inside.

 

Apples and sweets were distributed to the devotees.

 

Holy water was not spread among devotees this year.

 

 

Afternoon

 

Swami came to Sai Kulwant Hall at 3:50 p.m.

 

There were three speakers, Dr. Narendar Reddy from California, Ajit

Poppat from UK and Prof. Anil Kumar.

 

All of them spoke well. Anil Kumar at the end of his talk, requested

Swami that Dasara celebration went on like a feast and no feast is

complete without a curd bath (yoghurt rice). For us, the curd bath

is at least a few words from Swami.

 

Swami consented. Microphones were brought near Swami's chair and

they tried to adjust the microphone in front of the sofa. At that

time, Swami got up and started His discourse at 5:20 p.m.

 

Swami said that Love is most important because God is Love and Love

and Truth is God.

 

Swami said that one should not have body consciousness. One should

concentrate on the Atma. Swami said that there is no difference

between Him and us because Atma is one and same. He said that

everyone should Love All Serve All.

 

Swami said that some people are thinking that He is not healthy. He

repeated three times that He is very healthy and He has no problems.

Problems are to His body only. He is always blissful. He said that

He will be like this until He is 96 years old.

 

Swami spoke for 45 minutes and concluded His discourse with the

Bhajan "Hari Bhajana Bina Sukha Shanthi Nahi..."

 

Swami spoke with His usual vibrant tone. All devotees left after

Arathi very happy.
