Events at Prashanthi Nilayam

Narration of the events at Prashanthi Nilayam by a Sai Sister:

Today was a happy day, because Swami took another step forward to

reinstating His former Darshan routine!

I came for morning bhajan - Swami had gone out in the white car. He

returned at 9:10 AM and drove straight to the Mandir verandah. He

got out and with little or no assistance (He was just out of my

view, while going into the Mandir), went inside for bhajan.

Swami ended the bhajan after only 5 minutes, at 9:15 AM. As Swami

came out during arathi, his two assistants and driver watched from

some distance, standing and ready to rush forward in case of need,

but Swami went straight into the interview room!

Immediately we could understand that He had started the old routine

of going into the inner dining room, to have His usual

breakfast/lunch combo after bhajan. Since that second injury, on the

days He came for morning bhajan He was going straight back to the

Mandir.

We waited with bated breath, because usually Swami finishes eating

in 5 or 10 minutes flat. Waited, and waited and waited! Finally

Swami came out at 9:40 AM - He had been 25 minutes inside! Swami got

into the golf cart Himself, without assistance, and went out

blessing with upraised hand and a sweet, soft smile on His face.

The evening program was the same as usual: Swami came in the golf

cart, parked on the far end of the verandah, and listened happily to

the chanting, a few talks and then bhajans. The program lasted an

hour or so, and ending about 5:15 PM.
