Guest guest
With the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, on 20th Dec 2003, we conducted the Bal Vikas Program "Ananda Jyothi", at B.V. Reddy Senior Secondary School, Chittoor. This school is one of the prestigious institutions in Chittoor, run by B.V Reddy Charitable Trust, founded by Nutrine Confectionery Co. Pvt. Ltd. The School Correspondent Smt. V. Soumini Reddy, and the entire management and staff of the School extended their fullest co- operation towards organising and conducting the program. The School Staff actively participated in the Display of the Charts, by themselves explaining the various Telugu Charts into English, for the benefit of those students who could not read Telugu. The staff enthusiastically participated in the conduct of the games and quiz competitions. The target audience for the program comprised of students drawn from 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Stds. Totally 100 students (both boys and girls) attended the program, as per the agenda enclosed. The objectives of the Ananda Jyothi program, a brief introduction to the 5 major religions, and the universality of the same, formed the first session of the program. This was followed by a Display of charts depicting Bhagawan's "Life and His Message". We displayed 113 charts, starting from the Divine Birth upto his return to Puttaparthi. Apart from this we had collected another large set of photographs/newspaper clippings right from 1940 till present day. These photos etc. were graphic evidence of the various miracles, manifestations and Lingothbavams of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Finally the exhibition ended with the latest photos of present-day Puttaparthi, and the various institutions like Hospital, Musuem, Stadium etc. The chart exhibition was conducted from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m., after which the games and quiz session started. After the competitions were over, by 5 p.m., the School Vice-Principal, Mrs. Benjamin distributed prizes to the winners. Sathya Sivam Sundaram Part I in Telugu, and laminated Sai Photos were the first prizes. Sai Photos were the second prizes. Totally 13 first and 13 second prizes were given. All non-prize winners were given a consolation prize. Every student and staff member was given a small photo calendar of Bhagawan. Finally for the School, we presented a large size laminated photo of Bhagawan. The school management has requested the undersigned to take Bal Vikas class, once a week, at their school for any standard. They have allotted 90 minutes every Wednesday for the same, during the school periods. With Bhagawan's blessings I hope to start the class for Sixth Std students, after Sankaranthi 2004. Apart from the above, the mahila members of the Chittoor Samithi conduct Ladies Day, every month on 19th, by organising a Sathya Sai Vratha Kalpam at some devotee's residence. As part of the 80th Birthday program, we also conduct public Sathya Sai Vratha Kalpam, in a public place like temple or community hall for the benefit of non- devotees / new devotees. We have planned a public Sathya Sai Vratha Kalpam program at Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple, on 26th Dec. 2003. As part of that program, we shall also be exhibiting the Charts/Photos etc at the Temple, for public viewing from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on that day. On Christmas Day, 25th Dec. 2003, we have planned a candle rally with Bal Vikas children, in the evening. All members of the Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Chittoor were fully involved in ensuring the successful conduct of the above program. All of us are immensely grateful to Bhagawan for giving us this opportunity.
