Guest guest
Sai RAm, As I understand Padukas are a symbol of the Feet of God. I attended a puja many years ago, Quite by accident (sic) My roomate had no partner for the Puja, So I was asked to join her. To make a long story short, I had burned all my photographs in yagna(sacred Fire) It was a sacrifice that few understand nor have the heart to accept in releasing past passion and obsession for expression. I had given away my camera years before. When I arrived in India my mother was gracious and gave me her camera. The first photo I had taken in many many years were of the Padukas right after Swami blessed them. So I now have that photograph. Firstly, I don't believe they are a Hindu symbol/but rather a symbol that transcends organized beliefs. I utilize the padukas as a form of Surrender. I have since been given back, photography as an expression. The symbol of the Puja, for me, had more to do with what one is willing to give up and be seen and still unflinchingly follow the dictates of the spiritual heart. One doesn't know if one will be given back that which one gives up, but again the symbols of padukas and the willingness to give up that which is loved, never to receive or share that past expression. Burning the photos was the final act of surrender and release in a form of yoga. I had spent my first twenty years taking photos of the globe, travelling around the world. I didn't know the reward would be a photograph of the padukas. Which is more valuable to me than any other photograph. And compact enough to carry in my wallet. Not bad for someone who had never heard of padukas until arriving at a Puja, by accident(sic). Everyone gets there in their own way and the expression of the Padukas can have many many meanings when one delves deeper into the illusion of the material world. The reflection of worship in a photograph. He is great isn't He. Imagine touching them and receiving Bliss, and it only being a photograph!!!!.
