National Sai Retreat Report,Western Australia, March 2004

Sai Australia had never before witnessed such a large gathering (a Theatre with

2500 seats filled to capacity) at the inauguration of the National Sai Retreat

in Perth, Western Australia. The inauguration took place on 12th March 2004 at

the Burswood Theatre, Burswood Resort, Perth. The play was titled "From The

Beginning Of Time".

The play, "From The Beginning Of Time" embraces the past and present and

celebrates the strength, beauty and grace of the human spirit, which transcends

all colour, creed and culture. A narrative in music and dance, the audience is

brought on a two-hour voyage, which traces the journey of the human spirit and

culminates with the universal message of peace and harmony - inherent in all

walks of life. This production is an initiative of the Western Australian Sai

Youth, under the auspices of the Sathya Sai Organisation Australia & Papua New

Guinea.

With performers from a wide variety of backgrounds, the production draws from

the cultural melting pot of our world, and presents the audience with an

extraordinary glimpse into a vibrant fusion of artistic, dance and music forms

from diverse cultures and faiths.

Dreamers and Thinkers, East and West, traditional and contemporary, past and

future - all meet as one in this production.

The Retreat (Journey with Sai - From I, We to He) took place in Christ Church

Grammar School, Claremont, Western Australia and the topics that were discussed

are as follows: -

Faith, Spiritual Practices, Gayathri, Just Serve- Stepping Stone in Practical

Spirituality, Spiritual Practices of an Office Bearer, Health and Spirituality,

Roles of Ladies in the Sathya Sai Organisation, In the Company of Truth, Educare

and Sai in the Community.

We are grateful to Mr Garth Wynne, Headmaster, Christ Church Grammar School, who

spoke at the opening of the sessions.
