Jagadeesan Inspires Passion for Vedas at Conference

Saturady, April 3, 2004

By ARCHANA DONGRESpecial to India-West

NORWALK, Calif. -- Dato Jagadeesan Jagadeesan, visiting from Malaysia, inspired

more than 400 people of all ages with his passion for the Vedas and the Hindu

religion at the Vedic Conference that he and his volunteers spearheaded at the

Sanatan Dharma Mandir here March 20-21. This was the first of many such planned

conferences in various cities.

An economist by profession, Jagadeesan, 62, retired as the deputy director

general of the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority in 1999, and has

since been traveling the globe both for his work as a consultant with the

United Nations International Development Organization and the United Nations

Council on Trade and Development. His sojourns also have a deeper spiritual

purpose, an active involvement in the Sathya Sai Baba conventions and garnering

people's interest in the Indian TRAC program.
