Guest guest
Om Sri Sai Ram. I understand that sister Manju is enquiring about the popular "Naadi" astrology - called as "Naadi Josiyum" in Tamil. "Patra'" means leaf. The astrological predictions of ( supposed to be ) all people of the earth are believed to have been written on "Palm" leaves many many years ago by sages and saints. Incidentally "Brigu" is the name of one such famous sage in Hindu Mythology. There are similar schools of such astrological collections of these palm leaves - like "Agasthiar Naadi", "Sughar Naadi" etc., There is one temple town in Tamil Nadu known as "Vaitheeswaran Koil" where huge collections of such palm leaves are stored within some selective astrologer families. But of late ( in the past 10 to 20 years or so ) when the public awareness of such palm leaves increased, these palm leaves collections are spread out to cities and other towns and now you can find atleast once such center in each tow of Tamil Nadu - and in the process the genuineness and the authenticty of such disbursed palm leaves became a matter of question. Added to this is the commercialisation of the astrological business and there are many businessmen who claim to be having more "patra" than the other ! I too have a similar experince regarding my own life and happenings. I was amazed to see that without revealing none of my identity (except a thumb impression and the date of birth) the astrolger could draw out the particular section of the palm leaf set pertaining to me and in which my parents' names and even my wife's name were mentioned, in addition to my own ! It is believed that for each person the set of leaves will consist of about 50 to 100 leaves which may be divided into separate phases of life - like childhood; youth; marital;occupation; etc. And naturally the astrologer charges slab rates for consulting each phase and your eagerness to learn more of your future, career etc will attract more demanding price by the astrolger. There are reports that such naadi exists confirming the avatarhood of our Beloved Swamy also. Check the links below : http://www.sailightandlove.org/arteng_avatar.htm "c) In India, palm leaf books known as "Nadis" are available in many states in which fantastic predictions in great detail can be found regarding many persons. For example, this author's name, his parents' names, his wife's name, his place of birth, his place of work, his date of birth etc. have been predicted hundreds of years ago in palm leaves by some great seer! In one such "Nadi", the predictions regarding Satyanarayana Raju (the childhood name of Baba) mention his being an "Avatar amongst the Avatars" and about his "starting of schools and hospitals". Another Nadi mentions about his capacity to take on the illnesses of beings to save them from the curse and ill-will of others. One more nadi seems to have described Baba as the "Krishna of this Kali-Age". Reference can be made to Suka Nadi, Dr.Herbert B Puryear - Director of Assn.for research and Enlightenment, Virginia Beach, Virginia,US, Mother Mary's revelations in Yugoslavia etc. Indeed scholarly persons are studying these Nadis and in some future year their findings are likely to be astounding and confirm the identity of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba as the Avatar." http://www.geocities.com/priyasai108/cd/prophecy.htm "(b) Dr. E.V.Sastri, a prominent member of the Indian Astro Occult Research Association, New Delhi, during the course of his research, found out `Nandi Grantham' available in Tamil Nadu, which had all the indications about Sathya Sai Baba's horoscope written by a famous erudite Pundit, some five hundred years ago. It was written on a piece of palm leaf of the size 36 centimeters long and 2 ½ cms broad. It reads : `The person to whom this horoscope relates and whose name is Sathyanarayana Raju will renounce the world in his boyhood, will start schools and hospitals, will publish books for the upliftment of the World, will spend every day of his whole lifetime for the establishment of Dharma, which is his ideal and objective'. It is further mentioned that, "He will be an Avatar amongst the Avatars". (Taken from the book `The Grace of Sai' by R.Lowenberg)."
