What mantra?

 

Hi there!

 

The mantra that feels right in your heart. Or rather is heart-felt.

 

Anything that is forced or planned won't work. (imho.)

 

The most beautiful things we can give ourselves are the sincere

feelings that flow from our heart. (again imho.) smile.

Sai Raam Dhirenji,

Swami has said, most often about mantras and the significance it

brings to us and emanates within..however I don't think it matters what mantra

you use once you are able to communicate with swami and the yearning and

feelings are there. The main thing is recitation of the name of

god...whatever name that may be deriving bliss and unity and oneness with God.

Dear Brother,

 

Bhagwan or the Guru chosen for one, is alone elligible

to prescribe a mantra to an individual for his or her

spiritual progress; It is not advisable for one to

accept from any other source.

In this context I remember an incident as by by late

Sri kasturi - Apparently he was intent on obtaining a

mantra from Swami and so one day he was determined and

waited all day and past noon and got very anxious at

the end of the day that swami had not accepted his

prayer; So he approached swami and asked him why He

would not give him a mantra- most of us are aware of

how close Sri kasturi was to Swami; SO our Sweet Lord

asked him- WHy do you need a mantra; Ans: to get close

to God; And Swami asked him "How close to you want to

get"? and He laughed!!( at that time they were both

almost touching each other). This I find is loving and

adorable how the Lord conveys His beautiful messeges.

In general Gayathri Mantra, Swami indicates so often

in public and in private interviews as most potent;

and so many times He has asked one and all to recite

it as often as possible; However any mantra to be

effective has to sink into oneself and the recitation

should be done with a purity and faith! Personally our

family has had amazing experiences where our lives

have been saved as we have been reciting gayathri

mantra for a few years now.

And as far as changing mantra; in my opinion it is

like changing the queue that you are standing in ...

 

So hope the info will inspire and guide you towards an

appropriate answer.
