News for August 22, 2004

 

Today morning Bhagawan came out for Darshan at 7:35AM. Brindavan

boys had come to put up a program. So Swami asked the Vedam boys to

stop and they put up a drama on Shirdi Sai for an hour. This was

followed by a program by the Anantapur students. They sang Rama

Katha followed by some tunes in Brass Band. At 9:30AM Swami took

Arathy and He went back to His residence by 10:00AM.

 

In the afternoon, Bhagawan came by 2:50PM. He took a full round.

Swami had agreed for a program to be performed by the 6000 strong

group of devotees who had come from Srikakulam District of Andhra.

They had a rally with beautiful Rathams, various cultural shows and

what not. At the end of their rally, which lasted about 45 minutes,

the famous music director Vasu and party gave a beautiful program of

songs. By the time this was over, it was 5:10PM. Now Swami asked the

Vedam boys to start their chants. After a few minutes, Swami asked

Brindavan boys to sing as they had some music program. After half an

hour, Bhagawan took Arathy around 5:50PM and back to His residence.

News for August 23, 2004

 

Today Bhagawan came out at 7:15AM itself. He took a full round on

both ladies side and gents side then came to the stage. He called

the District President of Srikakulam and asked him to address the

gathering. He spoke for 15 minutes from 7:30AM to 7:45AM. He spoke

of the various calamities under gone by the people of Srikakulam

District including water scarcity. Swami also was moved several

times during this speech. After the speech Swami created a chain for

him. Then Bhagawan Himself got up to speak. It was a wonderful

discourse that lasted till 8:30AM. He explained that people should

hold on to His name which alone will bring peace of mind. He also

decided to give free food for all the 8000 people who had come from

this very poor district. Swami sang Sai Bhajana Bina at the end of

the discourse and Arathy was taken. Again there was Bhajan at 9:00

AM.

 

The District President was narrating in his speech how Bhagawan's

name has worked wonders in this backward hilly district. One major

problem they always face is water scarcity. As it is a mountaineous

terrain they were not be able to get water even after digging

borewells (carried out by the Government). Then when the Sai workers

came with the Lord's name on their tongue, villagers laughed at them

saying these people are indeed wasting their time. But lo and

behold!! Within 20 feet they could get sweet, pure drinkable water!!

Another villager who had committed some crime was given life

imprisonment. When the Sai workers went to his village and started

working, the family members of this criminal went and told him in

the jail about the daily Bhajans that are conducted in their village

by Sai workers. Hearing this, he too started reciting " AUM SRI SAI

RAM" in the jail, continuouslly. The result was, within three years

the Government reversed the order and freed him!! The man who only

had a mud hut to live in built a Mandir for Bhagawan and called all

the Samithy people to come! Today he was in the audience sitting and

listening to the speech of the District President. When it was

announced that there will be no rain this year also, the farmers of

the District did not know what to do. That was the time they were

making preparation to come to Parthy. They started having 41 days

Akhanda Bhajan throughout the district. And ever since they started

Aumkar on the first day they have been getting rains everyday. This

is how Bhagawan's name is working miracles in the entire District.

Now their current plan is to ensure that all the villages in the

Srikakulam District reverberate with Bhagawan's name before His 80th

Birthday. Name is simple! What potency it has, only those who

experience, can tell.

 

In the afternoon Bhagawan came at 3:05PM and took a full round. He

came up near the stage till the upper veranda and then asked His car

to be reversed, went to the interview room calling some devoteees

from Bangalore and Dharwad for interview. He came out at 4:20PM and

went back to Poorna Chandra. He did not come for Bhajan though

Bhajan went on as usual from 5:00PM till 5:20PM.
