Guest guest
I would like to enquire ! In my Samithi, we are planning to start music lessons for the Balvikas students. We are very much inspired by Swami's music college. Swami actually draws the young ones to Him through music. Amazing! Hence, we plan to start our own music lessons. Cetain music instrument classes, we are actually forced to invite teachers outside the Sai loop to teach students as none of the Sai devotees around are skillful in the particular instruments. This situation will eventually require students to pay a sum of money on a monthly basis in order to acquire the knowledge. On a personal note, music lesons in Sai Samithis should be done out of the spirit of 'Serving God' - meaning money should not be an influence. But in this circumstance, is it appropiate for students to pay ? Please send in your feedback ! Sai Ram, Kabi86
Guest guest
This is just my humble opinion. I believe it is good to pay the teachers from the Samithi's fund. I do not think it is appropriate to collect money from students for music lessons. In none of the educational instituitions headed by Swami, fee is collected. I think we should strictly emulate this example. The spirit of this example is that knowledge should be distributed freely and it should be kept up when we do something in the name of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. But since this situation demands some financial assistance, I believe it can be allocated from your Samithi's funds, if possible. I dont know!! A nominal fee say, Rs.20 per month (if it is in India) or so should not be a problem. This is what I felt. Just my humble opinion. Guest guest
Sairam to you. You can do some charity work ,which all Sai devotee's can buy... like making different kinds of dishes and hand made articles which will be useful for day to day use. From this money you can pay on the children's behalf. Actually speaking ,it is not appropiate for students to pay money. It is also possible to request voluntary donations from parents or other Sai members who are part of your particular Samithi.
