Guest guest
We must attempt in understanding as to who is a Brahmin? Additionally, Swami has given clarifications and discourses with respect to this matter. Being born as a Brahmin does not qualify one to be Brahmin if he/she does not follow the occupation of that of a Brahmin...there is one caste...humanity. If you're performing a duty of a Brahmin, then you're a Brahmin irrespective whether you're born in a Brahmin home or not. This is getting interesting...I think! Guest guest
ONLY TRUE BRAHMIN SAYS THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE CASTE...HUMANITY. It doesn't matter whether that person is from Brahmin or non Brahmin Caste. EVERy BODY IS EQUAL IN FRONT OF GOD. SaiRam Rama Prasad
Guest guest
Sairam brother. I know Swami's definition. But who has to certify who is Brahmin and who is a non brahmin. [We know BRAHMA JANATI ITI BRAHMANA]. Sairam papu
Guest guest
The person who hands out certificates is Bhagawan himself. If your occupation is that of a Brahmin then you're a Brahmin; irrespective of your background. I was born out of a Brahmin family but am not a Brahmin because I'm not doing the work that a Brahmin should be doing. Castes were created as a consequence of one's occupation and later its interpretations have been confused. Have a great day brother and may I have the preveledge of meeting you some day in a Bhajan session. Guest guest
Om Jai Sai Raam, Uncle Ramji I totally agree with your views….you know the caste system is ONLY MAN-MADE!!! Swami has said time and time again that there is only one caste and it is the caste of HUMANITY! The caste system was an important part of the Hindu way of life. During the Vedic age a social classification system called Varnashrama was devised so that the human race could have a smooth and ordered life in society. font-weight:bold"> We were all created from the master of the Universe –we were all created by Brahma –the mouth of Brahma –so how is it that some are Brahmins and some are not…. mso-bidi-font-size:24.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:blue;font-weight:bold">A 12.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:blue">ryans migrated from Central Europe and settled in the very fertile Indus Valley. Aryans were very clever. They implemented division of labor in their society. The most clever members of society were selected and given the task to teach others. The bravest people were selected and given the task to protect society. The dullest types of individuals who were able to tolerate a heavy workload were selected and given the task of supplying labor to others whenever needed. The rest of the people of the society were given the tasks to grow food, produce materials, trade, and supply the goods to others. 12.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:blue">As the Aryans were very clever, they found ways to keep the people doing what they had been doing. Thus, they bred four types of new generations. The ones considered most clever whose duty it was to teach were called "Brahmins". The protectors of society were called "Chetris". The group of producers and suppliers were called "Baishyas". And the group of laborers were called "Sudras". In Hindu philosophy, every creature in this world is created by the God, Brahma. Brahmins are thought to be created from the mouth of Brahma to symbolize teacher groups. BUT IS THIS HAPPENING? The caste system is still intact today but the rules are not as rigid as they were in the past. Because of western education, contact with foreigners, media, and modern communications, people are progressive in many aspects. In 1962, a law was passed making it illegal to discriminate against the untouchable castes. In practice however, discrimination still continues today. In the past, when Brahmins and Chetris came in contact with Sudras, they used to bathe. Now, some people just sprinkle water on their body and some do not even care at all. Today, Brahmins have land, work in the field and are involved in government service. Some Baisya and Sudra caste people are teachers, high officials, and successful politicians. Previously, Brahmins were not subject to the death penalty and were instead given the same status as cows in the Hindu religion. But now, all castes are equally treated by the law. Education is free and open to all castes. Discrimination is only done SOCIALLY. Om Jai Sai Raam In Sai Land ---there is no discrimination –all are one in the spirit…the same atma! I offer MY most humble pranaams at thy Lotus Feet of my Beloved Lord Sai –Lord Of Lords. I offer my respects to you Uncle Ram. Best Regards, Radhey Of Canada. 10.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Arial"> -----Original Message----- saibabanews [saibabanews]On Behalf Of Ram Lakhan Tuesday, July 26, 2005 11:25 AM saibabanews [saibabanews] Re: Suggestion! Guest guest
Sairam brother. Tks for your mail. I understand your views. But is it a fact that in sai centres where puja being carried out by non brahmins [i mean not brahmin by birth]. I had opined on your line to our centre officials who did not agree to my and your opinion. Therefore instead of arguing with my elders, i decided to keep quiet and concentrate on Swami. Bhajan session ? where ?? I never visit parthi nor brindavan. I feel great when i get opportunity to participate in weekly bhajans and daily nagar sankirthans at our centre. I dont think we can meet. Swami bless you and your family. Sairam papu - Ram Lakhan Tuesday, July 26, 2005 8:54 PM [saibabanews] Re: Suggestion!
