A website has been designed to commemorate his 80th birthday and to ease things for the lakhs of devotees seeking to attend the world convention as part of the celebrations. The website, called http://www.sathyasai8worldconference.com, launched by Governor T N Chaturvedi on Monday is dedicated to Baba’s 80th birthday celebrations and will give full details about the world convention to be held from November 18 to 24 at Puttaparthi. Speaking to Deccan Herald, Mr Sudheendra Sath-vick, Marketing Director of Sathvick Infotech Private Limited, the company which designed the website, said the convention is held once every five years. The one due in November this year will be the eighth convention, he said, adding that lakhs of devotees take part in it. And every year, a social responsibility event is also flagged off on the occasion, he said. Mr Chaturvedi not only launched the website on Monday, he also kick-started the process for organising various programmes as part of the convention and celebrations, he said, adding that everything would be ready by the end of September. Of the seven days of celebration, the world convention will be held on three days with the remaining days allocated for Baba’s darshan, he explained.
