All disasters what happened, happen and will happen on the Earth are as a

part of our own life and indirectly touching the whole humanity. Let us too

will join with prayer for hurricane "Katrina" victims as it asked by the United

Religious Community of St. Joseph County on September 3, 2005 in additional to

our own regular groups prayers.

The article in short, published in "South Bend Tribune" 3 September 2005 is below-

The following are accepting help and donations for victims of Hurricane

Katrina. Want to receive training and head south as a disaster-relief

volunteer? Call the American Red Cross chapters in St. Joseph County

(574-234-0191) and Marshall County (574-936-3928).

Radio station WUBS-FM (89.7) is taking donations of bottled water,

toiletries, cleaning supplies, bedding, clothes and Bibles. These are being

packed into a semi-truck at the station, 702 Lincoln Way W., South Bend,

between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. Call for a pickup or information at (574)

287-4700 or toll-free at (866) 797-1794.

A semi-truck will be set up at the Marshall County Emergency Management

Agency for victims of Hurricane Katrina. The EMA building is located at 9515

King Road east of Plymouth. According to Marshall County Commissioner Kevin

Overmyer, donations of bottled water and ready-to-eat foods like cereal and

granola bars will be accepted beginning 7 a.m. today until noon. Food will again

be accepted beginning Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., he said. The food will

be taken to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, repackaged and sent to help

people in New Orleans, Overmyer said.

The United Religious Community of St. Joseph County is asking everyone to

stop and pray three minutes for hurricane victims at 11 a.m. (South Bend time)

today and Sunday.

Local resident David Romero will collect bottled water, flashlights,

batteries, chain saws, pull-top canned food and protein bars from 8 a.m. to

noon today at the Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot, 316 Indian Ridge Blvd.,

Mishawaka.

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana is collecting donations of full cases of

water and full cases of cereal or granola bars. These may be dropped off from 7

Tuesday, they may be donated from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at

the Food Bank, 702 S. Chapin St., South Bend.
