I would like to know when is the navarathri celebrations beginning.

According to the calendar, Dasara is on the 12th of October. Hence, rightfully

Navarathri celebrations should start on the 3rd of October but the 3rd of

October is an Ammavasai day.

Please enlighten me.

Sai Ram,

Sai Ram

3rd October is Amavasya

4th october is the "Tithi Suddha Padyami" that is, the first day of

the Bright Fortnight of "Asvayuja maasa" (Month Asvayuja -

September/October) according to Hindu Callender and this is the

first

day of Dasara Festival or Devi Nava Raatrulu.

11th October is "Durgaashtami : 8th day of dasara Festivals"

12th October is "Maharnavami - 9th day of Dasara

13th October is the great day of Victory of Goddess Durga " Vijaya

dasami"

Who ever is interested please go through this site. One can find

full explanations about the Dasara Festival.
