Dear Reader,

Loving Sairam from the H2H Team.

The easiest and surest way to freedom...Baba tells you today.

Sai Inspires - 2nd October 2005

The quickest and easiest way by which one can realize the absurdity of

attachment is the path of service. Pour out love, whether it is returned or

not, whether it results in success or not. Let love be translated into

service, into beneficial acts, sweet words of consolation, comfort and courage,

and be filled with thoughts of sympathy and compassion.

- Divien Discourse, 11th May, 1971.

What's In October Issue of H2H

Loving Sai Ram and greetings from Prashanti Nilayam. The first thing we must

tell you is that we were simply overwhelmed by the wonderful response we got to

the letter we wrote last Sunday, along with the regular SAI INSPIRES message. We

are immensely grateful to you all, and believe us, there is nothing that gives

us greater pleasure than bringing joy to you.

Yesterday being the first of the month, our new issue of HEART TO HEART was up

as usual. You might not have had time to browse through it yet, but may we

mention some of its highlights? Apart from the regular features relating to

Swami etc., the October 1st issue carries a special article on Hurricane

Katrina. The article starts by explaining how hurricanes are formed and then

moves on to Katrina. By the time we finished the text, there was another

hurricane!

Some may wonder: What has H2H got to do with hurricanes? The answer is simple.

As President Clinton said after the tsunami, these great natural disasters

remind us that “someone else is in charge”. It is to remind us all

about that “someone else” that we have featured Katrina.

Can that “someone else” prevent disasters? He sure can, and to

establish that, we have a story about an imminent disaster that was about to

occur in a place called Madurantakam, about 200 years ago. Don’t miss

that fascinating tale!

Swami says that Narayana [God] cannot enact His drama without Nara [man] and

Nara without Narayana is incomplete. Thus, says Swami, God needs the devotee as

much as the devotee needs God. Many blessed ones have come to Swami

[byHiswillofcourse], and played their roles. We have much to learn from every

one of them. In the issue of 1st October, H2H pays tribute to two wonderful

devotees, Col. Joga Rao and Mr. Ajit Haksar , who passed away recently. Make

sure you read about them.

We were very pleased to learn that the city of St. Louis in the State of

Missouri in USA observed 11th September as Sathya Sai Baba Day. This is

wonderful news! And we hope it does not miss your attention that the day chosen

was the anniversary of the gory 9/11 incident, a blot on humanity. The Mayor

issued a proclamation [reproducedintheissueofH2H], in which rich tributes are

paid to Swami and His non-stop service to humanity. We are sure devotees all

over the world would be filled with joy. For our part, we hope that we would

have the privilege of carrying such news from other cities also!

Finally, today being October 2nd, we have to mention Gandhi. Gandhi is an ideal

role model for all of us. He was just like all of us when he started on the

spiritual path, but later in life, he transformed from clay into gold. That is

why Einstein said of him that in centuries to come people would scarce believe

that such a man actually walked on earth. What made Gandhi change? His firm

faith in Sathya (or Truth).

For Gandhi, Sathya was a concept, a principle, but for us, that concept has come

in a concrete form! With Sai inspiring us day in and day out, must we not

resolve to firmly adhere to the path of Truth the way Gandhi did? What better

Birthday present can we give Swami?!

Think about it. See you again next week.

With Love and Regards,

"Heart2Heart"

RadioSai e-Journal Team,

In Sai Service.
