Guest guest Posted November 19, 2005 Report Share Posted November 19, 2005 Four CMs, three Governors to grace Saibaba’s b'day bash on Nov 23 Saturday November 19 2005 11:20 IST ANANTAPUR: Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh Dharam Singh, Vilasrao Deshmukh, Narendra Modi and YS Rajasekhara Reddy respectively, Governors Chaturvedi, SM Krishna, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Central Home Minister Shivraj Patel, cricketers Sunil Gavaskar, Ganguli and Lakshman among other notable persons would be attending Satya Saibaba’s birthday celebrations on Nov 23 at Puttaparthi, said Saibaba’s brother R Ratnakara Raju. Free meals thrice a day are being provided to all the visitors from on Friday till Nov 24 at Prashanti Nilayam. Cultural programmes would be conducted in the evenings at Sai Kulwant hall by the well-known musicians like Sivakumar, Alikhan, Sivamani, Zakir Hussain, Parvin Sultan, Santoor and Rock Gilepsy. Rathotsavam was performed on Friday and Chinese Music ‘Vibhavari’ would be performed in the evening. Saibaba would give darshan everyday at 7 am and participate in the mass meals programme at 10 am. He would again give darshan to the devotees in the evening. Saibaba as part of his social activities, laid pipelines to a length of 2,500 km with Rs 300 crore to supply drinking water to 900 villages. Similarly, he quenched the thirst of people of Mahaboobnagar and Medak districts by investing Rs 150 crore and another Rs 150 crore was spent to supply drinking water to 600 villages in East and West Godavari districts, said Ratnakara Raju. As part of Saibaba’s birthday celebrations, free clothes were distributed among 60,000 persons around Puttparthi and 25,000 food packets were also distributed.
