Guest guest
there may be nothing new inthem DEATH AND THE SINNER People look upon death with grim fear. It is because they are unaware of their future destination. The good and virtuous should be happy to die for death is a passage of higher realms of peace and bliss. It is only the sinner who carries the load of sin along with his soul. This load he has to unburden before he can start a new race for life on the earth plane. He must go through the path of purification to start a new lease of life. This course of purification does not end immediately. It goes on from birth to birth and from earth to the spirit world, for countless years, till purged of all sins and perfected in spirit, he becomes ripe for union with God, the Absolute Spirit. God’s mercy is so great that even to the worst sinner, He gives a chance and hope to recover the lost ground and reenter the Realm of Bliss from which he has been an exile. For every soul is a spark of God and having emanated from such a high origin, it must return back to its HOME. Such is the destined lot of every human soul. (21.11.1952) We are aware that death is going to come to us any day, and the only reality in this world apart from our birth is our death, we know that death is going to come any time, so we should be prepared for accepting death. As Hemadripanth has stated in Chapter VII ‘Wonderful Incarnation’ ‘Unique and wonderful incarnation was Sai Baba, On account of the merits in my past birth, I had the company to sit at His feet and enjoy His blessed company. The joy and deligh I derieved therefrom was incomparable. In fact Sai Baba was pure Ananad and Consciousness. God has taken mercy on us, because of our past karmas, and we have the good fortune to serve his feet, and sing his name, and enjoy his blessed grace. And we have the wonderful opportunity to work and redeem ourselves. As stated in Chapter XXXI, “he who remembers Me in the last moments comes verily to Me, and he that mediates other at that time goes to what he looks for”. We know for certain how difficult it is for us to constantly remember God, and that too at the moment of death, we are more frightened and we may not remember his name. Hence what is needed on our part is constant practice of chanting gods name, and we should not worry or be afraid of death, as death is like discarding the old dress and wearing a new dress, however as we are human beings and we are afraid of death and Baba has set examples to his devotees, through the cases of Vijayanand, Balaram Mankar, Tatyasaheb Noolkar, Megha and Tiger, and through this examples we are reminded by Baba that we should always chant Baba’s name and always remember him, so that we will not be puzzled at the last moment and we can happily embrace death with the name of Baba on our lips. And as we can see by the above examples Baba will never forsake us at the last moment, and we can be assured of a good death, and evolution, so that we can evolve, and gain moksha. When a ‘Tiger’ can qualify for moksha under the guidance of Baba, why not we. So lets also strive and pray and surrender ourself to Baba, so that at the last moment, we has only his name on our lips and his taught in our mind, so that our liberation is assured. We can conclude with the following remarks in Chapter XLII “If we always remember the feet of our Sad Guru, our troubles come to an end, death loses its sting and the misery of this mundane existence is obliterated. Therefore those who care for their welfare should carefully listen to the stories of Sai Samarth, which will purify our mind.” With profound thanks to the Author, Publishers, and with the permission of Sai Baba, I share this wonderful messages of Baba with fellow devotees.
