Blaming Sai for our misfortunes

Dear Devotees

Some of us have this tendency

to pray to Sai only for our material benefits one

after another. Though it is not wrong to do so, we

must examine whether there can be an end to our

material desires at all.Usually it is seen that Sai is

kind enough to grant us our wish, but even before it

is fulfilled we are ready with a new petition for a

new wish, a new desire. This vicious circle of desires

has no end.

Sai himself has said not to

discourage people coming to Him for material or

monetary benefits as atleast this way some way may be

drawn towards Him. Slowly and steadily He works on our

mind internally and makes us realize that we should be

content with our lot and be happy with what He has

already given us.

Even if Sai is fulfilling 4 of our

5 wishes and he doesn’t fulfill the final one, we are

quick to say “Sai is not God. He is not listening to

me. He doesn’t love me. He doesn’t care for me .He is

more kind to others. He doesn’t know how much I wanted

this wish to come true….So ultimately He is not good

enough and He is not God. Maybe those 4 wishes of mine

that came true were by pure sheer luck or because I am

so great and I made it happen.”

This reminds me of an incident in

the movie “Shirdi Sai Baba ki Kahani” in which they

have shown Sai sitting in the Dwarakamai and one after

another devotees come to him with their petitions.

First one says “Sai please bless me for monetary

gains”. Second one says “Sai, we need a child. Please

bless us”. Third one says “ Please bless me so I can

build a house” so on so forth. Then Nanavalli comes in

the scene along with a donkey and says “Sai! This

donkey is very unfortunate and is being made to work a

lot and carry a lot of weight and burden on itself. So

please gift it one lakh rupees and it shall be happy

and so I also shall be happy”. Sai doesn’t say

anything to Nanavalli but the villagers take a lot of

offence and ask Sai how He is tolerating this

nonsense. Then Sai says to them “See Nanavalli did

this to make a point. All of you are also asking me

for so many things. He wanted to show how foolish your

behavior is, asking for one thing after another .This

is why he did it, so I didn’t take any offence to his

behaviour. ”.

So let us also learn from this that

Sai is not a wish –fulfilling machine that once He

fulfills something we run to him again with a new

desire. Sai has said “BEFORE ONE DESIRES, ONE MUST

DESERVE”. Sai is God and He knows what we need and He

shall give it to us. If He has not fulfilled some of

our wishes, we should know that there is some reason

for it, either we don’t deserve it or really need it

in our life or He wants to make us wait and give us

something better. Just because He has not listened to

us, if we say He is not God, then it will only reflect

what empty and shallow people we are, with no true

devotion,no faith and no patience in Sai, the Lord of

the Universe.

One more incident has taken place as

mentioned in the book “My life with Sai Baba by Shri

Bharam Uma Maheshwar Rao”.

This is the excerpt from the book. This book can we

read from www.saileelas.org

Two days before the last day of Sapta Sapthaham, a Sai

devotee came to our sister's son's house, where we

were staying, He composes devotional songs on Baba and

also sings. He agreed to sing when we requested him

and we recorded his songs. At the end of every song,

he utters 'Om Sai Sri Sai Jaya Jaya Sai'.

He told us about the miserable state that he was

undergoing, when he composed a song blaming Sri Sai

for his problems. He sung that song in our presence.

After recording all songs in tape recorder, we

rewinded the tape. All other songs were recorded but

the song wrote blaming Sai Baba was not recorded. One

astonishing fact was, in between two songs, tape

should be blank, as introductory speech and songs were

recorded, but without any gap, when he sung blaming

Sri Sai there was no gap between two songs and the

subsequent song was recorded in continuously. We

wondered at Sai's Leela.”

*********************************************

So Dear Devotees,

What Sai wants to give us no force on this earth can

snatch away and what Sai thinks we dont deseve, we

cannot get it no matter what we do.Let us all now pray

to Sai Baba for His Grace and His mercy on us, His

children.

MAY SAI BLESS US ALL!!!!!
