Guest guest
Sai Ram Spirituality to me means getting closer to God. It gives me inner peace, I feel complete as a person when I'm in touch with the higher force. Shirdi Sai Baba is my guide, my lodestar, who keeps me going through life. He is the one who picks me up whenever I fall and gives me the strength to go through life on a daily basis. Though I'm not into chanting mantras, I light an agarbatti before I leave the house. It completes my day. I don't go to temples on a regular basis but the sanctity of a temple really moves me. Sai Baba talks about Shraddha (faith) and Saburi (patience). Baba preaches that you must have faith in life and, most importantly, you need patience. Divine intervention does not happen in a jiffy. You need to do your karma and not expect any results. Most importantly, don't harm anyone, stop being malicious and be nice to people. But God helps only those who help themselves. You can't not study for an exam and then expect God to help you to pass. Since I come from a typically Bengali family, we have been surrounded by poojas all our life. We have the Saraswati pooja at home. All of us cousins would bathe early in the morning, do the pushpanjali, eat the bhog. Be it Satyanarayana pooja, Durga or Kali pooja, we were always excited to be a part of the proceedings. And since my family has a cosmopolitan approach, we would partake in every festival. Even as a child, I'd love being a part of any pooja and never kick up a fuss that poojas go on and on endlessly. Whenever I watch a good film, I feel my mood being lifted up. And whenever if I feel I'm enveloped by a shroud of negativity, I go to Shirdi. Miraculously, the vibe becomes positive. I know Sai guides me not only through difficult moments, but through life. (As told to Jitesh Pillaai).
