When the schoolmaster confiscated some of them, he found that they contained rude drawings of himself. He looked at the scraps of paper and turning to James, he asked, “Did you draw these?” 12.0pt">“Yes sir!” answered James. “See me after school is over,” said the teacher to James. The boys in the classroom chuckled. They looked forward to a scene between the teacher and James. No such scene, however, occurred. When school was over, what did the teacher do? He gave James a book on drawing and said to him, “James, my boy, I see in you the makings of an artist. Go and study this book carefully. Then draw as many figures as you can. Draw them on the blank sheets and on the flyleaf and in the margins of the book. And may you be blessed!” From that day onwards James was never the same again!
