Guest guest
Sat nam everyone, I have had a cramp in my calf for a week, making it difficult to sit in cross-legged, and impossible to sit in Sat Kriya posture, even with pillow. (not to mention garden!) I don't think it came from yoga, maybe from jogging - altho I do warm up stretches, or maybe from gardening. I've been told Potassium, so am eating 2 bananas a day, and to not get dehydrated. I'm sure I'm not dehydrated, as I drink a gallon of good spring water each day. wondering if anyone has any advice. thanks in advance, kartar kaur Kundalini Yoga, Books, Videos and DVDs on Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mantra CDs Terms of Service. Guest guest
Sat Nam Kartar Kaur, First thing is to NOT be tempted "push through" this. It is most likely a meridian, and at this point is giving you some pretty good info, if you can only decipher it. Any extra stresses in your life of late? There is a great book called "Acu-yoga" that can give one an understanding of the mind and how our thoughts and feelings influence our body system. For a little more on Meridians ( Terms of Service. Dharam, thanks for all your info. Esp about not pushing thru! I agree- if anyone gets this affliction- do not. I did keep doing the elevation set, thru the pain, and I don't think that was helpful. so today I only did those postures which did not involve my legs. But I missed doing the others so I appreciate what you wrote i will try it all, and ... and very interesting about "Any stresses in your life of late?" Cuz I had this pain for about 10 days - and I should not have ignored it - but it was exactly as I was in my car on the way to work - that Yikes, it went from painful to agonizing, excrutiating, "I can't stand this." so very interesting.. Anway I went to my doctor finally who gave me muscle relaxants. I am back to only pain, and hopefully that will continue to lessen. thanks for the references. 11 minutes huh? [grin] I'll give it a shot! sat nam, kartar kaur Kundalini Yoga, Books, Videos and DVDs on Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mantra CDs
