Guest guest
Hi everyone, Please all accept my humble obeisances, My name is Maarten, you can check my ID in , although it want say much to you I suppose, so I'll tell you a little more. I've been following this group already for some time, but didn't introduce myself yet. I've got three brothers, I'm the second, no sisters, we are all ranging between 28 and 33 years and non of us is married (It's not that we are thàt ugly, but we may be a little weird).Fingers crossed, two of them are already engaged. I "went" to agriculture school, but didn't finish, "worked" for 2 years in the metal industry, which was non-different from hell, after that I tried some time to make clay pots and sculptures, but I didn't have it "in the fingers", so quited also. Finally I ended up in one of the Hare Krsna temples (Radhadesh) in 1996. There I lived for 4 years, maintaining the garden and doing some all-round services. For the last 2.5 years I'm staying with one leg in my parents home and with one leg in Radhadesh (not so easy if you know there is a distance of 175 KM in between the two places)...one day I may become steady...(fingers crossed again) In sept 2000 I started studying astrology and it feels like I'm becoming more and more entangled into it, actually, I start to like it a little... My parents are giving me full facility in their house to study. That's why it's so difficult to stay in Radhadesh. But still, my greatest desire is to push on Lord Caitanya's movement with full force (at least in my mind), you all kindly pray for me...please. Actually, I have already one question: I'm reading the Mahabharata from Krsna Dharma. In chapter 14: Burning the Khandava forest on p.148 there is mentioned "the seven kinds of flames" In this chapter Agni wants to consume the Khandava forest because of certain herbs which are growing there which may cure hime from indigestion problems due to eating too much ghee offered by the brahmanas in the fire sacrifices. But Indra is stopping him everytime because of his friend, the Naga Takshaka, is living in there with his family. Finally, Agni approaches Krsna and Arjuna to ward off the demigods while he will consume the forest with all his sinful inhabitants. And than it is said: "Agni immediately expanded himself around the forest and began to consume it with his seven kinds of flames" Can somebody kindly explain what the seven kinds of flames are? Yours, with the best wishes for 2003, Maarten Hare Krsna
