"Those who reach the supreme abode..." implies those who are already

in material condition. I don't see how that can apply to those

already in the liberated condition, since they do not "reach" the

supreme abode (because they are already there).

 

As far as the question of our own origins, the answer is that we are

eternally existing jiivas who are part and parcel of the Lord's

marginal potency. The Vedaanta-suutra states that we have

beginningless karma. Some interpret that to mean that we were never

in the spiritual world, but rather we have been always in the

material world. I simply take that statement to mean what it clearly

says: that we have beginningless karma. At the very least, it would

seem that it puts our exact originating point beyond the realm of our

senses or deductive capacities.
